David vs Goliath - Splinterlands edition

One of my favourite cards for this week's Share your Battle contest! And almost missed it! I think I posted about it before, that when I first saw this card, my initial thoughs were something like "Wtf?? Tank with 1 health??" But now... how can you not like the dwarf?!

Apart from the very cool artwork, there are so many cool things about it! It's definitely a YOLO card most of the time: a faster ranged attack, and there it goes. Buuuuuut....if he strikes first, he'll do some massive damage. And more often than not, with all his amazing skills, a couple of strikes is all it takes to create havoc on the opposing team!

Just look at these cool stats:

  • Blast from level 1
  • Piercing from level 3, retaliate from level 6 and trample from level 9!
  • 3 mellee attack that goes to 6 on the last levels!
  • High speed

His only con is the 1 health, but all the skills make up for it.

My favourite rulesets? Equalizer and melleee mayhem! Especially in equalizer, where he is my usual tank; and that way @carrieallen, you don't have to worry about the "almost dead" part! 😁

I do use him too in all mellee rulesets, and hope to be lucky: the high speed makes him dodge some attacks, and a first strike coupled with retaliate is sometimes enough to take out first two monsters on the opposing team.... even if the other tank is a giant! You don't trust me? Then check this battle:

Rulesets:

  • Up close and personal: only melee monsters
  • Armored up: +2 armor to each monster

Dwarf vs Magnor!! 1 Health vs 15 Health! Can you imagine what happened? 😉

My strategy was actually kind of crap, placing the Kobold miner on the last spot; should have guessed sneak attacks would come, but I was hoping for that sweet dwarf chaos. And that's exactly what happened! First strike from the dwarf, damage on first 2 attackers. Magnor strikes back and...

2.jpg

Retaliate time!! 12 HP damage to the opposite tank on first round, and second monster dead! Can you guess who striked first on the second round?

3.jpg

On the third round, this is the moment the dwarf clears the kobold miner. Speed made him dodge the miner's strike, and from there, he survived until the fourth round!

4.jpg

With the opponent's team with only 2 weak cards, it was an easy win, even without the dwarf. You can see the whole battle here!

So... a 1 HP monster clears FOUR opposite monsters, including a 15 HP tank; who thinks the dwarf is weak? 😉

See you on the battlefield!

Hummm 8000?? In what coin? Because for sure it's not Hive! 😁😁 The only time I sent Hive away for an exchange was around 120, and brought 240 back. Since I'm trying hard to reach the 5k HP mark... math doesn't add up! But do love your badges nevertheless! ;)

This badge shows your payout performances after writing interesting posts and comments and curating other's posts or comments.
The number below indicates the level you reached with both your posts and comments rewards and your curation rewards.
The unit is Hive Power equivalent because your rewards can be split into HP and HBD.

Still strange, given I haven't powered down ever and change most of my HBD to HP. But I'm assuming you don't do the math by hand, so you're probably right... which means I'm doing something wrong with my powerups / need to ptimize them! Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for sharing! - @marianaemilia

Very nice! Lately I've only seen the dwarf in the Equalizer rule but you had the courage to use it even against a giant. I loved the biblical analogy. Beautiful battle. Congratulations.

Thanks! I tend to use more than I should, but I just love all the chaos it can provoke if it unleashes all the attributes! ;)
