Weekly Wednesday Rant

avatar

We only get one of these a week.
Since, for me, today is only Saturday, we will both be surprised if this doesn't make it to be published 4 days from now.

It seems that some of the minions of the og ninjaminers have taken it upon thimselfs to decide what other people think.
One, or more, of the original golden children has had a tantrum triggered.

It's not likely he came to this point alone, he consulted his friends, as he does with most things.
Not only does he, thim, want to tell others what they are thinking, but thim wants to use his stake to force that opinion onto others.

Thim thinks that being here first, and acquiring a lot of stake, lets thim decide who can have rewards, and who can't.
Thim thinks their opinions are more valid than any others in the room.

Now, let me give you some back story before linking you to the post, dear reader.

I have other accounts.
Shocker, I know.

One of those accounts is my autovoting account.
I use it to track authors I actually read.

It also happens to be my nonprofit's account.
Occasionally, of late, I put out content that is more disposed to be printed there.
Not all of my dear readers like it when I go all riot porn, so I tone it down for that page.

Here is the post.

As you can't see, it had a whopping ~.22stu before the downvotes.

I give name redacted* credit, he did, at least, call his shot.
He is not a total douche.

Where I think he goes wrong is not in the flagging of the original vote on the original post, I figured/hoped somebody would, but in coming over to my current post and taking a piss on it, too.

I am not your territory, name redacted.
I am not your bot to follow your commands.

It's not like a 1% vote, ~.0002stu, on a post few are likely to see, is going to break the bank.

Where this issue lies is in your thinking you can come along and piss on me like I am a fire hydrant and you a stray dog.

Get a f'n grip on your megalomania, please.

In name redacted's defense, @ noganoo has worked hard to establish his standing with those folks.
I was around, but not really first hand to the drama.
I'm sure there are chat logs, somewhere, that back up what can be found on the blockchain.
Those two do have history, and popular opinion would likely side with name redacted.

That said, the code is law, beating your opponent at his own game is just the hazards of being in it, imo.

Personally, I am glad the keyboard warriors are chased from the platform, they cheapen the value of those of us that actually do contribute to the struggle to be free.

It's easy to be brave behind a mask, try doing that shit under your real id, just once, and you will find some respect for those of us that have.

Bullying people with an insurmountable, to them, amount of stake is still bullying, even when thim upvotes your post.

Now, if we could just get those folks that think steem is their personal fiefdom to be ruled with an iron fist to get a grip, we could go back to our otherwise humdrum lives.

*In the days between writing this post and posting it, the flags on the original content have been removed.
I presume that a lesson has been learned.

Therefore, I redacted the name from this post.
Who did this is less important than using this experience as a learning opportunity.

Steem is not your personal fiefdom to be ruled as you see fit.

We encourage free speech here.
That means we support things we don't want to hear.
Or, at least, we should.
And, we don't throw tantrums when folks do things we don't want them doing.

This is difficult for some of the earliest adopters/creators to get a grip on, but has gotten better with time.
You should have been here in the summer of '16.

I saw that exchange. Nog's post was disgusting and I totally get the mentioned person (who wasn't a ninja miner, by the way, he just was close to them)

I don't blame him for asking why you supported it, but his tough guy words were ridiculous. The idea that he could have just asked or even just downvoted, but I literally laughed out loud at his manner in addressing it with you, because no one would ever talk like that is the real world or to anyone they had any respect for at all.

I caught that, too.
I attributed it to class bias and bubble living, but it's mostly a guess.

My beef was I autovoted the post, I didn't get any prior notice of its content.
I'm not good at taking orders, either.
There would have to be a mutual respect.

I hope they both go forth and sin no more, though that is unlikely, for at least one of them.

Is it just me, or have you been on walkabout lately?

I'm around, I'm just not a fan of this phase.

Mostly trying to let it pass.

Yeah, the yelling into the abyss is wearing thin.
I wonder if stinc is rethinking the kneecappening.
Having overloaded rpc's because we had too many users pre-mira would have been a good problem to have, imo.
