The Steem News @ 13 March 2020 - Steem keeps on Steeming & a Ray of Light appears in the Tron debate

avatar

The Steem / Tron debate trondled through another testing day.

The top 20 witnesses remain locked in a stalemate 8-12 split, and discussions continued.

There was one small ray of light when Tron's new liaison person, David Roebuck, made an unscheduled and well received first appearance on the MSP Town Hall meeting this evening.

Despite all the hubble and bubble there's still plenty going on around Steem and today's Steem News has updates about the new Social Blockchain Working Group, the largest Power Ups and Power Downs, another Steempeak update, the first Steem Sponsored Chess Tournament, Steeming.com, and the EMS Hemp Network.

1. Steem & Tron - the latest

Another day of stalemate.

Some more up and downs of the voting currently leaves the top 20 witnesses in a 8 - 12 split.

The 'original' Steem witnesses now hold #1 - #7 through respectively @good-karma, @roelandp, @blocktrades, @anyx, @ausbitbank, @yabapmatt and @gtg. @themarkymark has dropped out of the top 20, and @steempress is hanging on at #13.

The other 12 places in the top 20 are being held by the Tron backed witnesses.

Neither side has the required super-majority of 17 to push through a hard fork...

@jrcornel reports that Justin Sun is continuing to power up with another 870,000 SP being added to the @hkdev404 account that is voting the Tron backed witnesses...

David Roebuck has taken on the liaison role for Tron. He is currently working with Steemit Inc MD @elipowell to develop a 'win-win' proposal that they hope will move the situation forward.

David @roebuckdm made an initial unannounced appearance on the MSP Town Hall on Friday evening. He received a good reception. David said he is available to come on another MSP show over the weekend.

Hey, thanks for putting this together. It's nice to see a summary of current news. I had been wondering - just today in fact - if anything was progressing at all, or if we were just in for a war of attrition.

Thanks again, for the mention. We're still on in Adelaide, so far. We'll see what this virus says over the next week or so.

I hope that goes okay.

How's it going down your way? Are schools closed, sports matches banned etc there yet?

No gatherings over 500 people. So still pretty minimal restrictions,

Thanks for posting about Steeming.com - I hadn't spotted that one before.

Let me know if you spot any other new ones like that.
