Surviving The Alt-Coin Depression

Surviving the Alt-Coin Depression

Nearly all the altcoins are having a terrible time, and Steem has been hit harder than most.

As Bitcoin begins to recover the Alt-Coin depression carries on and on....

It is my opinion there will be an Alt-Coin Recovery, but as I have stated before I don't think it will hit until after Bitcoin hits new all-time highs. (not my original thought, but one that makes sense to me, I've read it several places)

I'm calling this phase "The Grind".

As I talked about yesterday I started this journey without a lot of expectations and somewhere along the line I got emotionally involved and I am not afraid to admit it. I know once I am emotionally involved I can not always trust myself to be objective. So, this is not financial advice.

Nearly everything I have succeeded at goes through phases where you just have to put some work in without knowing if it will pay off or if it is effective. During this time the experience doesn't feel as fun for me and because the results are unknown I just put in the time and keep working... I call it grinding.

Nearly every day I look around at some of the projects that are going on and I feel hopeful..

Nearly every day I look around and think we are DOOMed

So, I googled how to survive a Depression. (I meant economic, but google thought I meant emotional- this is what google recommended. I think it works!
I thought it would be fun to play with it as a to do list..

Here is my attempt at working through the steps!

  1. Get Creative. ...
    image.png
    done

  2. Stay Positive. “Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is. ...
    image.png
    this is fine...

  3. Learn From the Difficult Times. ...
    image.png

  4. Change It Up. ...
    image.png

  5. Know What You're Grateful For. ...
    image.png

  6. Focus on What You Can Control, Not What You Can't. ...
    image.png

  7. Realize You've Come a Long Way. ...
    image.png

  8. Build Up Your Community.

And even google knows! The most important this we can do to survive the crypto depression is to support the community!!!

Posting is part of my Grind... I'm grinding...

What's on your survival list?

I have been grinding so long, I don’t even know how to stop!

The switch from btc boom to alt coin might be a quick one so I am just buying the dip! That and posting everyday with my steem fam and loving the high steem/sp payout ratio. Should have that stake in order when the time comes.

People hoped to be able to buy cheap Steem. But now that it's cheap, they're panicking it'll go to zero🤦‍♂️

I'm buying as well :)

I am hopping back onto the gri ding phase as well. Taking as long as a break as I realized I have a lot of catching up to do on the platform. But steemengine and all these tokens are still pretty cool and things will work out. Well see.

Not to discourage people, but looking at the past, STEEM started going up like crazy more or less 1 year after the halving, so we might need to hang on for a while... Ofc, past performance doesn't always correlate with future performance, but it's a nice thing to keep in mind... and even if took that long, that would only mean more time to accumulate at cheap prices through posting, curating and buying ofc.

Build Up Your Community.

This is one of the best tips to be honest, with a good community we won't even notice time going by... we just got to create :)

I knew I recognized that fork
The funny thing is I can't remember if it is my fork or a random fork pic. In an case we are in the final stretch.

I'm bearish on most of the Alts but I think Steem still has a very good shot at long term success. I have a feeling some crypto people might try and sell their coins if we go into a global depression.

Steem has hit itself. Since I am part of the community I assume my responsibility. I have not promoted it enough for others to join.

When people realize that it's easier for STEEM to go from 0.17 USD to 1.7 USD than for BTC to go from 10k USD to 100k USD, then they will buy more STEEM and bear market will end. Until that happens, Neil Gaiman's advice "Make Good Art" works for me. And of course buying the dip.

I remember one smart man said: "be greedy when others are fearful". I think we can apply this to the current alt-purge or however you want to call it. Maybe we're on the winning team and don't even know it.
