The Money Wall

avatar

When my son was seven we were in a store and he asked for a toy.

Being distracted and in a hurry, I said, "I don't have money with me right now."

He wanted to press it a bit, so he suggested I could write a check, I gave a vague answer about covering the check.

Being a problem solver my son suggested that I could go to the "Money Wall".

"The Money Wall?," I asked, actually curious.

He explained there is a wall where a person can just push buttons and money will come out.

What a child of seven didn't yet understand is you have to put something in to take something out.

Great; children's logic.
Had a similar thing with my son when he was about that age crossing France. Driving by those chimneys of a nuclear powerplant he asked me if the clouds where made there.

That's great! Kids are fun... :) Not always, but most of the time.

why didnt you give him his own money wall card with points and tell him your money wall card was out of points? oh well i know what the problem was

it was the 90s and it was just a time of abundance, no wonder we thought resources were infinite... they kinda were to a child... and hopefully the goal can be star trek style existance with fusion power and replicators, transporters, where we can just create whatever we want and life becomes more about self fulfillment post scarcity etc and money is used more for getting things custom, creating the better music videos, showing off etc,.... all those people who thought post scarcity society without need for jobs would be bad for humanity but no peopel always make new jobs lol and the money wall can always be there, AND HONESTLY whatsup that money wall itself may seem fantastifull but it itself is the solution to a huge problem america had with money and cash and delftaion atcually, its not JUST inflation as a rpoblem, its the LACK of money too, that GOLD also causes, so yeah having money and being ABLE to spend it anytime with ATM machines do actually help the economy , allowing peoepl to spend heir money more, boosting consumtpiuon and creating mroe jobs lol

the money wall should be replaced in teh futrue with the 3d printer or replicator from star trek, because you wont need cash in future, but you may want a product, but the product like the first 3d printable apple ear buds that apple can sell you manufactured in america at a vending machine style machien at the mall, wellthat will eb expensive cuz they will still have to pay of the 3d printer costs and eventually it will be teh design of the product itself that will be what we pay for, untill peopel start torrenting the designs and using their personal 3d printers to just print whatever procut you want, like printers or cd burners or 3d printers have done...

it will be like napster did for music, it will happen evenually with 3d printing and stuff and we will get to ALL have lambos, but not because we all have to pay $200k for one but because we will all be able to 3d print our own lambos for like $500 and then $100 imagine ... if my 4k tv can be $280 55 inch imagine when the tesla is freakin $100

the money wall was important .... and now we have https://wallofsatoshis.com

I keep thinking about these. The life cycle of a post is around 24 hours, and then it's 'old news'. Should we recycle 'old news' or not?

I have some I would love to use, and my follower level and audience were quite different then.

Why not? We probably do without even being aware of it, I have posted some stories I am pretty sure I had written about before, but there was no way I was going to look so far back to see if it was really so.

I'm talking about what would be a 'reprint' of some original work I wrote maybe a year ago. I have done what you mention above without realising it also.

I feel it is okay if you are honest about it.

I also have different followers and write different things, but I know there are some who might remember so I just mention it for integrity reasons. If anyone is offended they are free to not vote for it.

What a child of seven didn't yet understand is you have to put something in to take something out.

And many people never realise that judging by how Steem stakeholders expect to take a ROI out of Steem without putting much effort in.

True! Investing usually means time, money, contacts and effort go IN...

Here they think you put a dollar in so you can take a dollar out ... tomorrow.

Money wall... and when ever i take a sledgehammer to it people lose their mind.

Especially the boys in blue. When i offer to share they look at me angrily and weirdly... But... well they take it.. Ofc.

Free money from a money wall. Who doesnt want a piece.
