Marvel’s Avengers demo (I tell you my experience)

One of the most important appointments of the Gamescom 2019 arrived, and that is for the first time, that I had access to a playable demonstration of the expected Marvel's Avengers, intellectual property that Crystal Dynamics is working on, and for which they have left in a second flat until further notice to the Tomb Raider saga.

The Marvel’s Avengers combat system reminds of the outstanding works of other superheroes that are already on the market. We will have two buttons to attack, one to perform medium and rapid force strokes and with the other the strongest strokes that will also be somewhat slower in execution. There will also be another to dodge enemy blows and one last to jump. But the really interesting thing about Marvel’s Avengers in this regard, and that makes it stand out. Marvel’s Avengers will be starring 5 different characters, which will be notoriously different from the rest at the playable level. Nothing will have to do with getting into Hulk's skin, Iron Man's or Black Widow's.

As if that were not enough, we also have Thor, whose electrical powers will affect a large number of characters, and that of course, will have his hammer Mjolnir, not only to deal powerful blows with him, but also to attack at a distance throwing it against the enemies leaving its majority, out of play abruptly. Iron man fans, on the other hand, will be able to face the dangers from a distance, being able to destroy with their shots elements that perhaps with other characters would be complicated to reach, such as turrets or enemies that are not at ground level. With Captain America we may have the most balanced character in terms of the different possibilities between the melee with an imposing force, and the ranged attacks by the invaluable help granted by his shield, which of course he can also use to avoid attacks or protect against enemy fire.

But what has surprised me most of what I could play exclusively in Gamescom 2019, has been everything related to the team of the characters, and it is in this section, where works like Destiny or The Division come to mind. Crystal Dynamics has included different equipment that we can improve and that is categorized by colors with respect to its value as in the games mentioned above. So, in addition to improving the skills of the characters, we will also modify their attributes thanks to the diverse equipment we can obtain.

Marvel’s Avengers has left me with really good feelings, although what I played was nothing more than the tutorial. A brief introduction that has allowed me to enjoy the different characters and familiarize ourselves with the gameplay that each of them will offer. The ambition of the title is incredible, but in this sense it seems that Crystal Dynamics seems to have everything under control and well tied. If it is true that despite the spectacularity of what I could enjoy, the mission was very scripted and I needed more freedom, with some scenarios that left me with a slight feeling of being very limited. Luckily, the development team affirmed that it is a sensation that will be diluted, since during the adventure we will find missions with much wider scenarios that will give us greater freedom. Promises that sound true after being able to verify in another trailer part of this fact.
