Your retention level of the Word of God has a role in displacing the devil out of the affairs of your life. When the Word of God is alive in you, sin cannot lay hold on you when the Word of God is dwelling in you in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; the devil becomes miserable as far as your life is concerned, with nothing of yours to cinch unto.

Like Jesus proclaimed; you too will be able to proclaim – “the prince of this world cometh and he hath nothing in me”. We are not talking about the Word of God you have, stalked up in your memory with no impact in your life. How much of God’s Word is working in you? “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee” Psalm 119:11. The word of God that is in you; that is working in you, to keep you away from sin and help you access the riches of God’s grace is the Word to retain.

There are a lot of things you will not need to struggle with in life, if only you can allow the Word of God to grow in you. The Word of God you grow in your life is what puts you over. The Bible says in Acts 19:20 – “So grew mightily the Word of God and prevailed”. One great area of conflict with the devil is in his eagerness to displace the Word of God from your spirit; he knows if he succeeds with it, every other structure of color in your life will be a walk over. For you as a child of God, you will discover that the Word of God is the backbone of every colorful structure in your life, whether it be in your spiritual life or in any area of life.

The devils primary target is the Word you have received from God. Your ability to retain it determines your level of dominion. From the point you give it away, from that same point, you become an object of ridicule in the hands of the enemy. When the devil came against man in the Garden of Eden, he was primarily after the Word God gave man. He sought first and foremost to displace the Word of God from the heart of man.

He knew that if he succeeded in dispossessing Eve from the Word of God, they will eventually be displaced from the beautiful garden God had put them. One thing you must not toil with in life is the Word of God you have in your spirit: ensure you do not compromise it. Make it a no go area and the devil will make your life a no go area.
