Coconut Durian Ice Cream with Waffle Pieces - Steem Fest Diaries
Arm Pit Flavored
Well, I didn't think it tasted like arm pits, but @faitherz33 did. I thought the durian ice cream was delicious. Faith had one bite and said it tasted just like an arm pit and then refused to eat any of the other ice cream or the waffle pieces that had any contact with the durian flavored ice cream. The coconut side of the ice cream was also delicious and had little pieces of coconut in it as well.
My quest for fresh durian fruit will continue though. I am not going to give up because durian is one of those things that I am very excited to take part in eating while I am here. It is an exotic fruit with such strong feelings of either love or disgust behind it and now I think Faith is going to be one of those that gets disgusted whenever she thinks about it.
We got this ice cream at the Yelo House while all of the art for the Inktober event was being set up. Our trip to Thailand has been amazing so far. It has been incredible watching my wife break out of her comfort zone here and doing things that I would have never thought she would be doing. If you have read any of her Road to Steem Fest posts, you would know that she has been nervous about a lot of things and has let fear lead her life, but over the past year, she has been working very hard to not let fear control her life like it used to.
She has kicked her fears to the curb and we have been out exploring Bangkok in areas that she would have not dared to go into a year ago. She has tried food that she never would have. I am so proud of my wife and love her more than anything. It has been amazing being able to spend this time with her and sharing my passion for the Steem blockchain with her.
We are getting ready to go out and explore the city again today prior to the ending festivities of Steem Fest. Whatever you go out and do today, make sure to make it awesome. Life is all about creating memories and spending it with loved ones. Like the Yelo House says:

That would be cool to go and do that with you so I can see how you get the photos for your awesome exploration posts. My wife and I are going to be here until the 15th, so we have a bit more time to spend too. We are probably going to go to some of the temples today for a couple hours and then try and find some other stuff to do before the dinner cruise.
We leave around 10 if you would like to come, or that’s the plan! I need to get moving as I’m still lazing around in bed.
There’s a lot to see and little time. The temples are great, we did some yesterday.

Ha ha! Faith is so funny!! I don't mind the taste of durian actually though given the choice I probably wouldn't eat it. What I don't like about the fresh fruit is its texture and how to hold it
Hopefully today or over the next few days I am able to find some of the fresh fruit so that I can try it out and mark it off of my list I wanted to do while I was here.
Ahahahah gogo Durian!! Don't give up, fresh fruit is really the way to go, ice creams and other sweets don't come close. Good luck! ;)

I remember that one time we tried durian ice cream too. To this day, my daughter recalls the yucky taste. 😂🤣 I thought it was okay, but didn't plan on having more. The durian fruit is one I stay away from 'cause of the smell. Some say it is tasty, but I only like it as candy. 😉👍

I haven't tried the candy yet, but I plan on getting about half a suitcase full of different candies to bring home to my kids.

The photos look super beautiful! And I am so gonna get myself some coconut icecream. I had coconut smoothie last night... forgot to take a photo of the smoothie... but it's nice and yummy...
As for durian... I would love the fruit itself more than any other durian product...
Do remember to drink more water or coconut water if you are going for lots of durian... Durian is a heaty fruit...

I havent had the coconut smoothie yet. Hopefully it was better than coconut water. I bought one of those a few days ago and was not a fan of it. Yesterday I got a honey lemon drink from a lady and it was amazing.
You have to try it yourself to know whether you like it or not. Coconut smoothie is sweet and milky.

And oh you haven't found any Durian there? I think they could produce year round.
She has probably sneaked a taste of my arm pit while I was sleeping or something. Hopefully I can find some durian somewhere over the next day or two.
I couldn't past the smell of fresh Durian to taste it, though I really enjoyed it dried. So happy hearing about the adventures you are both having and the admiration you have for your wife, she is pretty awesome to be tackling her fears head on xxxx

🤣 Taste like Arm Pits.. Durian is a fruit either you like it or you dislike it, no way around it. Please let me know if you come to Malaysia, we will bring you to eat Durian.
Malaysia durian have many types and the fragrance is stronger than Thailand Durian.
I found some durian today and it was awesome. I am going to try and make a post about it later. My wife and I are going to be having some drinks and we will see how that goes.
