Supernatural Awesomeness + My Steemian Hero

So the new Ghostbusters trailer was just released.

There was plenty in the trailer to make you excited, but not enough to really spoil anything.

It was absolutely amazing. If you haven't seen it, you must go see it right now:

There are so many reasons why I am nerding out over this movie. Firstly, I remember seeing this movie as a kid in the 80's. It was original, it was funny, it was cool. So the nostalgia meter is off the scale.

Now, as an old grown-up, I'm amazed at how well the original movie has held up. Even my youngest kid @koolitime has seen the first Ghostbusters movie and absolutely LOVES it.

We saw the 2016 reboot, and I wouldn't say it was horrible. The movie was fine. My main issue wasn't the cast or the special effects or the story. The issue I had was with the fact that they decided to reboot instead of create a sequel.

I didn't want to pretend that the first two movies didn't exist. I loved the original cast and didn't want to see them go (at least, not without some closure). So the fact that the upcoming 2020 release will be a SEQUEL to the first two movies is downright spectacular.

What makes this movie even more incredible is the fact that my family and I had the distinct pleasure and honor to meet @dylanhobalart at SteemFest last month. Let me tell you about this Canadian hero of a manly man.

Not only is he a veteran Steemian...Not ONLY is this guy a Splinterlands fan who went "all in" on the recent Kickstarter...Not ONLY has he created absolutely stunning metal sculptures and artwork...Not ONLY does he look like some sort of action hero...

...but this beautiful, beautiful man from the great North does physical special effects works on movies. And yes, he worked on the set of the new Ghostbusters movie, helping to bring to life what will inevitably be one of Mankind's greatest achievements.

Every single one of us should immediately fall to the ground in gratitude. In fact, I'm on the ground right now. Okay, no I'm not. I'm typing at a desk. But mentally, I'm on the ground, throwing dirt on myself, shouting "THANK YOU, OH GREAT DYLAN FOR THAT WHICH WE ARE ABOUT TO SEE IN SIX MONTHS!"

In fact, here. Let me show you a picture of the mighty Canadian man-god:

Gaze upon his bulging muscles and mysterious, manly man-face. It looks like he's walking in slow motion away from an explosion after he saved the world for the 8th time.

Actually, this is from my family's last day on Koh Chang island in Thailand. A bunch of us were at @roelandp 's place, relaxing and chatting and saying goodbyes. While we were in Koh Chang, the majority of us did what most tourists/travelers would do. We ate and swam and went sightseeing. We did fun stuff.

Before leaving Thailand, I found out that Dylan and a couple of other Steemians spent a day volunteering to clean up the island of garbage. He volunteered his time as a human being to help the locals, the wildlife, and the environment. That's the type of man he is.

He is soft-spoken, attentive, considerate, and empathetic. He is extremely genuine and authentic. What you see is what you get. He is very REAL. It was a true honor to meet him.

Before we left, Dylan gave me a gift. It was a gift that I will treasure til the end of my days. Heck, I might even request that I be buried with it as I'm lowered into my grave. He pulled out and bestowed upon me an on-set hoodie that was worn by Ghostbusters crew members while filming took place in Canada.

Emblazoned across the back side is the "code name" or working title of the movie (presumably to keep the movie under wraps). It's definitely something I'll have to wear during the movie's premiere!

So thank you, Dylan, for your generosity and friendship. You've made this nerdy fan-boy very happy.

For the rest of you, please go check out @dylanhobalart. Follow him. Upvote his stuff. He's an extremely talented artist. He's made all sorts of cool Steem-related items. Actually, go check out his most recent post, where he talks movies and trailers:
