How Steem Impacted My Life: The Five Practical Life Impact

Albert Einstein once said "strive to be a man of value rather than a man of success". It took me several days to understand the exact meaning of this short quote after pondering over the word for some certain period of time. I was able to conclude that Albert Einstein was only explaining the concept of impacting people's lives positively in anything you do.

We all have been impacted one way or the other through some other people and some of us might have actually impacted some other people's lives positively (this is a good thing to do though). After reading through the recent blog post of @theycallmedan which can be found via this link https://steemit.com/promo-steem/@theycallmedan/how-has-steem-impacted-your-life-initiative
I have also decided to share my experience about how Steemit impacted my life, I suggest you grab some pop corn and enjoy my post while you read.

Right from the beginning

I never knew or heard anything about Steemit not until when I decided to make a prominent research on Bitcoin due to the price hike that occurred that year. I was fortunate to find myself on Steemit after clicking on a link suggested by Google. Apart from the blog post being explicit, comprehensive and captivating, I began to develop interest in being part of the Steemit community (maybe because it pays though). I had to create my Steemit account and boom I got a notification that has to do with welcoming me to Steemit.

I was very happy after getting the notification message even though my mind was actually focusing on making more money on Steemit not knowing I was actually thinking very wrong. Along the line, I began to learn different lessons from my utilization of Steemit which had actually impacted my life on the steem blockchain. I will be sharing with you some of those important lessons and I hope you find them helpful.

#1 NEVER GIVE UP

download (16).png

The first impact Steemit injected in me was the fact that I must not give up on anything I decide to do. I am quite sure every quality content writers who started from reputation of 25 will have more to say about this because this is something I have gone through.

There are times I end up with no upvotes or very low upvotes with little payouts lesser than ($0.5). I actually do get frustrated back then when I see some people with less quality posts making more than $10 payouts.

I guess it was because I was a newbie on Steemit though. I actually had that sense of feeling that no one was actually reading my blog post and I never felt any sense of appreciation from anyone. I began to ask myself the following questions ;

Am I very poor when it comes to writing?
Why isn't anyone commenting or giving me upvotes?
Why are some people with low quality content earning more upvotes than me?

Since I couldn't figure out the answers to those questions, I began meeting different people with higher reputation on the platform about how I can be successful on Steemit. All the answers I got was to be consistent and never give up.

An unnoticed writer who started with reputation 25 with low payout and upvote has now started having increasing number of followers and he is now in reputation 60+ just because he never gave up.

The astonishing part of this is that after learning not to give up on Steemit, I now tend to apply this in my practical lifestyle. I actually find it very difficult to give up on something I started in life because I have gone through bad days and experiences while using Steemit, so what's the point in giving up on anything I intend to do?.

#2 INTERACTION WITH PEOPLE/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

support2.png

As an introverted person, I used to find it very difficult interacting with people maybe because I am just always shy when I am with people or I don't just feel comfortable being around people. This actually affected my social life and interpersonal relationships with people back then though.

Ever since I joined Steemit, I noticed one of the best ways to earn more followers and grow your reputation faster is by your level of interpersonal relationship with people in the Steemit community. This is actually a trick you can try out and I am sure you won't regret this.

I was able to meet different people and friends on Steemit even though I am still making more friends on Steemit without being shy or timid. I was also able to apply this habit in my physical life and I began to taste the happiness and sweetness in it.

Most of my friends and mentors on Steemit had actually impacted my life for good just like @crypto.piotr will keep checking on me if I am still doing good creating quality contents and @streetstyle will keep motivating me not to give up. I can happily write to you that the more you make good quality friends on Steemit, the more your chances of you being successful on Steemit.

In conclusion, Steemit helped me to develop interpersonal relationships with people and making friends with people which makes it very easy for me to apply in my place of work and school when it comes to making friends or building relationships with people.

#3 IMPROVEMENT IN MY WRITING SKILLS

download (66).jpeg

I used to be a very poor writer and a very lazy one back then. I hardly find it very difficult to come up with 500 words characters while writing articles maybe it was because I wasn't exposed to such lifestyle or I was just being lazy.

Ever since I joined Steemit, I noticed I began to develop interest in reading and writing such that I don't engage in plagiarism. We all know Steemit is very strict when it comes to plagiarism and this is why most of the personal blog posts I write are always from my brain without making use of any source. I am able to write more than 500 words as a Steemit user and this is actually creating a new career for me to be a content creator just with the help of Steemit.

I also met lot of content creators on Steemit and I do learn from them by reading their articles or blog posts when writing. This has actually helped me a lot even though I am still learning and striving to be a very good writer. Thanks to Steemit for helping me develop this.

#4 UTILIZING THE INTERNET PRODUCTIVELY

download (67).jpeg

Almost everyone closer to me now see me as someone who is very addicted to pressing mobile phone and surfing the internet even though most of them might not understand what I do online. I actually love being proactive and productive with the amount of time I spend with my phone and I noticed Steemit was actually the best place for me to be productive online.

I tend to learn online by reading different blog post on steemit and I also love to develop myself by making little research just to come up with a great blog post on Steemit. I guess this explains why I am always busy to people who always see me pressing my gadgets or surfing the internet.

I can confidently tell you my level of productivity is always increasing whenever I make use of Steemit because there are lot of videos to watch on dtube/3speak and there are lot of blog post to read on Steemit depending on your interest. Maybe this is actually one of the reasons I am addicted to Steemit.

#5 EARNING STEEM

As a student studying in African country, it isn't that easy here to cope with the little amount you collect from your parents. It's always advisable to have an additional side hustle that can make you earn money to survive or make a living due to the expenses at school.

I can confidently tell you that Steemit has actually impacted most people around the world most especially students when it comes to earning money online. I could remember how broke I sometimes used to be back then after buying different textbooks and materials to study in which there won't be any money left for food unless I convert some of my Steemit tokens to cash before I could eat.

This is why you must actually work before you earn which is what I am always doing on Steemit by creating quality contents, joining different communities and making use of DApps.

In conclusion, I believe in steem and I hope a day will come in which steem will be among the top 20 cryptos due to it's impact in our lives when it comes to earning.

To wrap up my whole blog post, I will conclude finally by thanking Steemit for it's impact in my life when it comes to earning, being productive, writing, making friends with people and not giving up on any condition you find yourself

💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️

Thank You for your time and I hope this will also impact you after you are done reading

Thanks for the mention @hardaeborla I can totally relate to your entire post for I too have been there almost to the tee, with some of the same pondering and doubts. The Steem blockchain seems to lock down our fears that kept our desires from being fulfilled.
Again, such a well written and formatted post... excellent work.

Full Steem Ahead into 2020!

Dear @hardaeborla

Finally I found few minutes to read your post (I bookmarked it a while ago, but lack of time was a killer).

Thanks for sharing your experience with Steemit. And I feel honoured to be mentioned in your article.

As a student studying in African country, it isn't that easy here to cope with the little amount you collect from your parents
Would you mind telling me how does property market in your country looks like? In europe it's very difficult for students to rent out anything - rent costs are just to much for them. Most of the time.

ps. I've been trying to catch you on telegram but you seem to vanish againg :(
