Avoid Over-Parenting

Julie Lythcott-Haims warned parents about over-parenting when she gave a talk at TED Conference.

There are some parents who do not take up the responsibility of being a parent when they do not get involved in the lives of their children.

On the other side of the extreme, there are many parents who have high expectations and they are micromanaging their children in every aspect of their lives.

These parents may think that they know the best for their kids but the excessive stress for both parents and their children may not be beneficial in many aspects.

Some children may even lose interest in learning and they define themselves based on the grades that they can score in school.

Julie Lythcott-Haims provided a good reminders to all parents to avoid over-parenting and they should provide choices to their children.
