I'm A Witness Newbie So Splain Me Some Stuff
So I have been following the witness stuff and I mostly getting but I have a few questions.
First, I found this cool page that lists the top witnesses and it really helps me to visualize what is going on. See it Here https://steemian.info/witnesses
Next, I decided to just give my proxy votes to @thecallmedan because he is an advocate for always doing the thing, and that means me and hopefully you too will have to do nothing to help our community. He will do all the work for us Get more info here:

I have also notice that the admin at @steem.leo is giving out tokens and votes for allowing them to be your witness proxy and do all your voting for you if you want to do that.

Now To My Questions:
It looks to me that the next guy who needs those valuable witness votes is @themarkymark . If I am getting this right he needs to move up at least 1 spot and his witness in particular is the most important to focus.
If this is true, would it make sense for everyone to delegate any steem power they can to @themarkymark to improve his power? Because if so I could delegate a few hundred and maybe the witnesses not quite able to hang in there during the battle could move their power to him.
Also, I have finally saved up 3000 liquid steem with a lot hard work. I mean I have toiled away here for 2.5 years with an average post earning of under $1. Nobody votes for me lol. But I have managed to accumulate almost 6000 steem after buying in at the top of the market. I managed to turn a $4000 investment into $1000 worth of steem. So that liquid is important to me and I feel like that it is my way to jump ship with a life vest if shit gets bad.
Having said that how important is it to power it up right now. I know every little bit helps but it is my liquid life raft and I don't want to power it so I need to now how that amount would move the needle.
And finally it seems that perhaps low earning but diligent steemians should be getting some fat votes right now that perhaps we don't deserve but need to get to power up the rewards. That is certainly something I can do. I mean I have $.01 cent votes to give out so I'm happy to vote for the accounts that need them to push our witness list up. Im just thinking out load on the voting thing and im willing to help if my wee little account can benefit anyone with delegation and/or votes.

Every vote matters. Basically each SP (e.g. you have 6000 SP) has 30 votes to select 30 witnesses. Both @steem.leo or @theycallmedan have voted 30 witness, your proxy SP will add to their voting power.

Justin Sun's sock puppet witnesses received votes from 15-20 large accounts, on the other hand, top Steem witnesses received votes from more than 150K accounts.
If you are not professional trader, you can't time Steem to sell and buy to make some profit. I would rather power down Steem when it goes above 50 cents and altcoins are in a clear bull run similar to 2017.
I, personally, have invested $45K in Steem and LEO. I have been trading and observing the crypto-market for more than 6 years. This threat is existential threat to Steem chain where I have spent almost three years (@riseofth, my main account).

When you proxy your witness vote, it will not change your voting power to contents.

thanks for the reply. I was holding onto my liquid to put into tether or buy btc because I'm 100% invested in steem and don't seem to personally benefit more if I have 6000 powered up or 3000 powered up. I'm wondering if my 6000 would mean more to the witnesses in their ability to ward off the bad actors. And also is it important to get @themarkymark to get into the 5th position on the list. And if so, how can guys like me help it happen.
I noticed something cool a few minutes ago. It likes like @berniesanders has a bot that automatically comments on new posts reminding them to use their witness votes. I think that is really smart because honestly, I've been here 2.5 years and never voted for witnesses until today. I think the majority of active steemians don't understand witnesses. But a bot that comments on every new post reminding them that using a proxy costs them nothing and is important for protecting the steem they own. well that's my 2 cents lol
I would also suggest powering up. Sun expects us to fold, but it looks like we already win. The world is watching, and we already have the top spots. Those who powered up now and defended the blockchain will be immortalized in history for doing so. This community isn't going anywhere. Justin Sun thinks we are going to fold. Make him pay for it.
Once we have 16 witnesses Justin's 70 million stake will be frozen again and the war will be over. That's the time to power down.
Do I have to do it now lol? Can't there be an announcement when all little accounts need to power up and make a last push lol? I mean I can't remember the names of everyone who perished at the Alamo. I just they are some dead guys who tried to beat the odds.
