Beauty lies in the difference by @esthersanchez

Hi Dear Friends!

Days ago I was reading the news, something I did not do some time ago, and the news that caught my attention was about the increase in xenophobia and bullying in the world.

Almost a third of the world's adolescents have suffered bullying recently, according to data published for the first time by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), official source of statistics for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal for education

Unfortunately, among humans we have established acceptance parameters in which many are left out for the simple fact of "not fitting in".

White repudiates black (and vice versa) for having no more reason than having a different skin color. Among fellow citizens they repudiate themselves for belonging to a "different social class". If you are a size larger than the "regular" then you become creditor of the contempt and bullying of many. If you are very thin, you do not escape, because "neither so bald nor with two wigs" (note sarcasm;).

One of the news I read was about a beauty Queen who renounced her reign for suffering from bullying, for having a "size" larger than what a MISS was supposed to have. There was also another about international artists campaigning against applied xenophobia among people from neighboring countries. If you have different political ideas, that will be another compelling reason for which you deserve to be whipped. In many heads and when I speak of many heads, I not only speak of people who have not had the opportunity to study but also of those who call themselves "intellectuals", the fact of being born with some disability is vetoed. This is another great reason for discrimination and rejection in too many places in our world.

After reading, I began to think:

And if we were all skinny, or all fat, and if we all dressed the same and preferred the same color, ate the same, professed the same religion, would we like the same things?
Then I replied, What a boring life! and I wondered once again, how could we know what we really like, if everything is the same, if there are no other options? . There would be no Beauty of Contrast, the thrill of knowing new and different things.

One of the best things, in my way of seeing things, is to talk with someone you know you can learn something new. Meet people of different races, customs and ideology without prejudice and without that constituting a mortal sin.

God has made us different and he opened for us a range of multiple possibilities, so that within that difference we can find the beauty of life and therefore our happiness. If there is something we must be clear about, it is that beauty goes beyond a face with beautiful features, or a skin color or a pair of designer shoes. All this is simple vanity, it is temporary. What prevails are all the experiences, values and feelings that have helped you grow as a person, as a human being.

Take care of yourself ... and feel that it is okay to be different and that, above all things, that is something we can live with and be happy with. Think that if there was no night, we would not know the day.

We have been taught to fear those who are different to us. I'm not completely sure why, but that's the origin. Rather than see other cultures as something that can enrich our lives, our culture is wary - unsure whether the other culture threatens our own...

Yoda is right: "fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering."

If we can teach our children not to fear that which is different, then there is hope.

There is a proverb in my country that says "It doesn't matter how fast the front one runs, as long as the back one doesn't get tired"

I could say "it doesn't matter how many times we have to talk and how many times they don't listen to us, as long as we don't get tired.

While you, me and everyone who thinks like us deliver the message, there is hope. Cheers!
