Hello dear Steemians,

It is December and the time of our favorite movies, songs that we all connect with Christmas time, it is like must that we love to watch once a year in December.

For me such must is “Die hard”, my favorite action and the same time Christmas movie that is produced in 1988 by John McTiernan with one of the best action movie star Bruce Willis who acts as detective McClane.

Christmas movie?

Many of you may ask why it is Christmas movie, it is simple action, but there are few reasons why:

  • In the story det. McClane is separated from his wife and children due to the job that his wife accepted. He lives and works in NYPD and she in Los Angelos. So it is Christmas time and he is flying to his wife and children to spend Christmas together but then that terror act happened at the work of his wife and unwillingly he must save the people of his wife’s work and of course her too. For those who did nto watch it I can say it has happy end.
  • Another reason is, when I watched it first time it was the time when the first actions produced in West were on TV in ex-USSR. Me and my father we are both fans of action in our family so we watched together and had a lot of fun, I remember seeing my father happy, entertained and me too. That is why that movie is always very special for me.
  • Later on when I met my hubby we found that we have the same taste of action movies and this one is also the favorite of my hubby. Therefore, the tradition of Christmas must goes on :)
  • The last reason that makes this movie a Christmas movie is the Song: "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" (performed by Vaughn Monroe)

That is why I love that movie and for me it is a must for Christmas time.
I hope you will like my version of Detective McClane :)

Great portrait...
It's been so long that now I feel strange whenever I see Bruce Willis that young! 😜

The time flies... :) Still those movies bring me back in happy 80-90's. Probably our grandparents felt the same when they were watching their movies from 30-40's :)

The worst thing is not seeing those actors grow old... but watching the one in the mirror get wrinkles, white hairs and everything! 😜

Agree with you, the time flies so quickly we do not feel on ourselves but realize only when we see our favorite actors and the old movies :)
