How steemit made steemsilvergold, how steemsilvergold made the steemsilverround.

Take a good look at these three silver rounds. Now take a closer look... They appear to be completely unrelated, unconnected and stand alone collectors items, but that's where you would be wrong.

What brings them all together is not the design on the front, but what they represent.

If you're only now just coming across these, then let me try and explain what they mean and how a single community, on an obscure social media site, came together, to create something wonderful.

Way, way, way back in 2017 our little band of "stackers" were just finding our way on #steemit. We had found each other, found a new home and found a place to share our thoughts, feelings and ideas.

The community of #steemsilvergold had only just recently been formed, and new members were arriving daily. The word was out - "come join STEEMIT and welcome to #ssg!".

A good friend and fellow stacker by the name of @sevinwilson came up with the idea of banding together to mark this occasion and produce our very own STEEM round. He put the call out for the community to design our very first silver round, and what you see above is the result of months of hard work and the fantastic winning design by @bearone

Cryptocurrency was on the rise, then it rose some more, then it went through the roof.... #steemsilvergold was bouncing!! The lure of earning steem just from blogging about something we love, and most of us already did on other platforms, kept pulling more and more stackers to the site.

Before we knew it, it was time to get the 2018 #steemsilverround design under way. Fortunately, I was chosen as the lucky winner, and my design "Communi-tree" was selected and made into the next silver round.

Although cryptocurrency had started to "cool down", we were all still steem-rich and thought this dip was nothing but a blip. We made 1500 rounds and these all shot off the shelves.

In what seemed like a blink of an eye, the next year had flown by and there was talk of the next #steemsilverround.

The bear market has seen a few weak hands fall by the wayside, but #steemsilvergold remained strong. The core of the group was still here. We were still posting daily, interacting, sharing ideas and generally just taking the piss out of each other..

Would there still be a call for a #steem round if steemit was dying??

You bet your ass there would!

The entries for the 2019 #steemsilverround came flooding. The designs were all amazing but eventually after a closely fought final stage @edxserverus was to be crowned.

Now all that was left to do was to pre-order, make and distribute this amazing round.

As you can see, I received my rounds and now I have all three designs.

It's now 2020, and is it too soon to call for the next design process to start?? Probably, but I really can't wait to see what this year holds.
