Curfew Lifted!

Just taken this shot at 11.37pm outside my local 7/11 and laundrette.

Why is it relevant? Well, because they just lifted the 11pm while 3am curfew today so I am now free again to pop out for a cheeky post curfew cheese and ham toastie at any time of the night or day!

We still have various minor restrictions in place such as 'night-time entertainment venues' not being allowed to open and of course, the borders are all closed to incoming travellers but the lifting of the curfew after 3 months is quite a big step in the right direction.

I do understand that not everyone around the world can enjoy the liberties we have managed to get back but please be patient and stay safe. My thoughts are definitely with those less fortunate.

Cheese and ham toasties never tasted so good........until tomorrow at least, when they will go back to being tasteless slices of salty cardboard again!

That must have been the best ham and cheese toastie you ever had!

I'm surprised you have it in Bangkok, is that coz of all the western tourists?

There's lots of western-style food in the convenience stores which Thais eat as fast food and as you know, all the huge fast-food chains are everywhere. The cheese and ham toastie, however, is a bit of a comic icon in ex-pat circles but generally speaking, cheese and ham anything is quite a staple here. I use the terms 'cheese' and 'ham' quite loosely of course!!

That's what I found odd over there, why they all closed? When our restaurants got closed, their delivery services went into overdrive and there were still take-out sales at all the chains and independents!

Glad you're also slowly returning a better 'new normal'!

A few opened, usually the Indians who don't really give a shit about the government guidelines. More are opening now, but some are still closed. I guess they really do want to go bust!

It's Thailand mate! You lived here long enough to know there is nothing 'normal'; new or otherwise!!
