For this week, the pics are not so good - but..
They prove an event I have been saying for a month...
Late at night "Deer" come to My window!
"That is a Sublime Sunday"! To catch them in the act!
These I took at 01:00 a.m., with night vision (on phone), then... I used a filter and it helped!

Needless to say, I for one was happy to see them! In the years I have lived here it is a first!
And although there are other bedrooms, they hang around mine! I am very lucky!

Can't do that here! On this Island all wildlife is "protected". If you kill an animal, it better be with your car, and "unintentional".
For example...
A Vulture will cost $1500.00 (in fines)...
A Deer would have to be over $3000.00!
The Audibon Society has "say so" over this area, I guess I am lucky that they let us live here!

I would be fine with the fines if they own the animals. If they don't own them, then they cannot make up fines outside of agreed upon rules that everyone there voted on. And it also depends on who owns the land. So, if you own land and deer is on it, are you telling me your private property rights are null and void as in violated and destroyed? Ownership laws go back thousands of years.
So, it is crazy when private property rights are discarded. For example, if a bear is going to eat your baby, you will have to let it because I guess the life of the bear is more important than the life of humans. The protection of wildlife then therefore become the unprotection and attack on mankind.
I believe that if a baby was being attacked, You might get away with it...
On the other hand (their point of view...) they are letting you live here, you gotta put up with it.
I was flying a drone and was threatened with a fine for harassing vultures....

The kind lady informed Me if I did not land (and I flew over the property) and stop she would do whatever it takes to make the charges stick!
Since I had (at the time) a FAA drone pilots licence I landed...
Do they believe in private property rights?
Absolutely!
But I have to tell You..
Since 1937, it matters not how much You buy...
You really only "own" the right of "say-so",
Not more..
Sadly....
I would love to decrease the size of federal government, etc.
