Veronika Kudermetova wins Volvo Car Open in Charleston

World no 38 Veronika Kudermetova fought hard to secure her first WTA title has she triumphed over Danka Kovinic at the Volvo Car Open in Charleston.

The Russian won in straight sets to ace over Montenegrin tennis player 6-4 6-2.

The 23 year Kazan was worthy winner as she finished the tournament on a high without dropping any set all the way through to the final.

Kudermetovat win against Kovinic was wrapped within 96 minutes of play and sees her top the season ace chart ahead of Barty with 130.

The Champion Kudermetova had this to say after the match;

"It means a lot. It shows me that I can play really well, that I can beat good players, and if I play like this and keep working, I can be in the top 10."
