Thai Photography Contest: flowers photos from my garden,ดอกไม้ในสวนที่บ้าน

This week has been very strange in terms of time and vibrations with lots of sudden changes in the sense of urgency. I and my cats were quite spot on last week when we could not sleep very well and very jumpy. The report from China said it was quite rare to have six earthquakes in two days, four during our sleepless night. Additionally, a news report from China today talked about several earthquakes occurring in the last few days. I think a swarm of earthquakes is coming to South-East Asia. However, life goes on as our daily routine and responsibility drive us along this flow of life’s mysterious journey. So, I would like to participate in #thaiphotocontest69 on flowers photography hosted by @thaiteam.

Last year several areas in the north and north east were suffering from severe drought. Several villages had no running water and crop failure was widespread. The winter months were the driest I have ever seen for years with fruit trees in many farms slowly dying. Lots of people including me were praying for early rain fall and rain storm to give some hope to farmers. Luckily, the monsoon rain arrived a few weeks earlier than usual but we would love the rain to be more long lasting. However, we were grateful for the Divine blessing of early rainfall.

My garden is not a flowers garden as we focus more on plants and trees that could feed and heal us. So, we have many fruit trees, a vegetable and small herb garden. I wish I had more time to do more research on medicinal plants. The more I read, the more amazed I am by the various medicinal properties of Thai plants. Trying to beautify the garden a bit, I brought several orchids and attached them to tree trunks. So, we should have some flowers during cool months plus other hardy local flowering plants. These were planted to lure in local butterflies, strange insects and bees. These passion fruit flowers always delight me they remind me that nature is the best artistic designer in the whole world! The intricate and complicated tiny parts which make up the whole flower which then gets transformed into delicious fruit! Just like magic!

When I have more time, my dream and vision of the garden will gradually grow more sustainable, just in case there were a big global lockdown due to violent war. But I hope and pray that humanity would not be so unfortunate and that we’ll have the common sense to stop the insane bad karma.

สัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมาเรารู้สึกแปลกๆ เหมือนกับว่าจะมีแผ่นดินไหว แมวที่บ้านก็มีอาการแปลก เราตามข่าวก็รู้ว่าช่วงสองวันนั้นมีแผ่นดินไหวในจีนสองวันติดกัน พอมาสองสามวันนี้เราก็สัมผัสกระแสพลังงานแปลกๆอีก ทำให้นอนไม่หลับ เช้านี้ข่าวมาจากจีนอีกว่าเมื่อวานนี้มีแผ่นดินไหวอีกหลายครั้ง เราคาดการได้ว่าต่อไปนี้ทางเมืองไทยจะมีข่าวแผ่นดินไหวบ่อยครั้งขึ้น แต่ชีวิตเราก็คงต้องดำเนินต่อไป ความจำเป็นและหน้าที่ของเรา ก็ขับเคลื่อนชีวิตไปเรื่อย ตอนนี้เราคิดว่าการปลูกต้นไม้เพื่อการดำรงชีพ ให้มีอาหารกินเองและมียาสมุนไพรไว้ใช้เองนั้นแหละ จะช่วยให้เรามีชีวิตรอดได้ในภาวะวิกฤติในอนาคต

เรายังไม่มีเวลาเต็มที่ในการดูแลสวนที่บ้าน เราเน้นต้นไม้ที่มีผลผลิตเอามาเลี้ยงชีพได้ และต้นไม้ที่เป็นสมุนไพรรักษาโรคได้ ดังนั้นจึงแทบจะหาดอกไม้สวยๆในสวนไม่ค่อยเจอ เราก็พยายามปลูกไม้ดอกที่ไม่ต้องไปดูแลมากมาย เช่น ดอกกล้วยไม้ และดอกเข็มซึ่งก็สามารถเอาดอกมาทอดกินได้ด้วย ถ้าเรามีเวลาว่างมากมาย เราจะต้องศึกษาต้นไม้ที่ทำยารักษาโรคได้ และใช้แทนยาสีฟัน หรือแทนผงซักฟอกได้ จะได้ลดปริมาณสารเคมีที่ลงไปสู่ดินและแม่น้ำ เราชอบดูดอกเสาวรสมาก เพราะธรรมขาติออกแบบได้อย่างแปลกประหลาดมาก แล้วดอกแปลกๆนี่ก็กลายเป็นผลไม้ที่เราชอบด้วย ต่อไปเราคงต้องไปเรียนเรื่องการทำสวนแบบผสมผสานที่ตามโครงการเกษตรพอเพียงด้วย ตอนนี้ก็ต่องขอร้องให้เหล่าเทวดาท่านช่วยดูแลสวนให้ด้วย ตลอดจนช่วยรดน้ำต้นไม้ให้ด้วย

This garden is quite wild and randomly planned so this is not a professional garden; but I hope we would have fruits and vegetables in times of need.
