Thankful to be here

This past year has been pretty crazy. With all of the different hard balls life has thrown our family this past year, I am just glad that we are still here and kickin.

To say that it has been a hard year is an understatement. Our family has experienced the loss of so many friends and family this year. Faith is getting ready to travel a few states away to the funeral of an amazing woman that practically raised her and has been fighting cancer the past few years.

I am thankful that Faith is able to go and be there with her family during this time and celebrate this amazing woman's life. I am glad that two summers ago, we were able to travel to Oregon and the kids were able to meet her and her husband and spend some time with them. They were grandparents to the kids prior to meeting them and it was nice for them to get a personal relationship with this sweet woman.

About 7 months ago, I was in the hospital with some life threatening blood clots in my lungs. I had put off going to the hospital for almost a week and just dealt with the pain, thinking that it would go away, but by the time I actually went to the emergency room, they had gotten pretty bad.

Luckily the clots stayed in the lungs and did not move to my brain from there. Since then, I have been on medication and to many different specialists to find out the cause, but all of them have no answers. So I am thankful that I was able to get things under control before they got too bad, so that I could still be with my family.

I am thankful for our pets that are always willing to snuggle. Titus is probably the best dog in the whole world, unless he got hold of a bird, then he doesn't listen and he won't come inside at all.

It is nearly impossible to get him back inside and I have to trick him to get him away from the bird that he is eating and then he will come in. This time of year is the worst because the birds start to freeze in the trees in our backyard and just fall to the ground and then he just starts to munch on them and then his breath smells like crap. I can always tell when he has been feasting on birds.

I can't forget about Rusty either. He is the coolest cat in the world. He always wants to hang out with me and rub his face against mine. It was so awesome to rescue him and Keiichi and to bottle feed Rusty because he was so tiny. He is so big and healthy now and one of the most loving cats ever.

I am thankful that I was able to go to Thailand with my best friend in the whole world and to have the most epic time ever. It was nice to have some time away from everything and forget about everything that has been going on and just have an amazing time together.

I am also thankful to the Steem blockchain and everyone here that takes the time to read my weird posts. You are all awesome.
