Zeke Thoughts - What is my purpose?

zekethoughts.jpg

Welcome to my weekly deep thoughts break when we unplug from life, goals and stuff to reflect and use our brain as a boost for our soul. We get caught up so much in the day-to-day operations and struggle for success that we lose perspective. An easy way to hit reset on that is to disconnect, pause, and reflect a little.

What better place than the blockchain to share the experience and have a conversation of a positive and constructive manor? Makes it even better when you can share and discuss with @wesphilbin and the #pypt folks every week on The Ramble. https://discord.gg/ES9kaN

An Uncomplicated Purpose

Sure. Paying it forward and actively being a good person is virtuous and fulfilling. Everyone is aware of this and practices it to some extent. I love it. Plus, it is as easy to start, powerful when practiced with some consistency, and so satisfying to your soul.

What smacked me in the face is the part about my goal-oriented existence.

I have always tried to be a good Samaritan even though I am not from Samaria (??) These were simply breaks along my path to become successful. The more success and personal wealth I can build (without totally sacrificing my life,) the more I can help others. I can generate a monetary success so big, I can help others without the focus, dedication or luck to have done it for themselves. I can make enough to pay off my parents' mortgage, and buy my brother that trip so that our families can vacation together. That kinda stuff.

Perhaps dedicating myself to that path has drawn me off the one I am truly meant to be on? Maybe the consistent things should be the pausing to help others and make little positive differences?

The universe doesn't give a healthy turd about my goal-based pursuit. Letting THAT sink in really expands your perspective and can even serve to take some pressure off you during financial bumps for some more happiness!

I think the true purpose of our being is to achieve “satisfaction.” Happiness is fleeting, satisfaction is a state of being.

I saw your post on PYPT #pypt Thanks for sharing.

Differentiation of happiness and satisfaction is powerful! I totally agree.

Cheers!

Satisfaction.... Happiness, it's just a thin line between them. This post got me thinking about myself too, I guess we tend to want put our names to one big thing for us to feel purpose filled. But can you really blame us?

I use those thoughts to convince myself but I often say "Well, at least I..."

...did that.

But I should also continue and just being myself and doing what I believe in should be enough.

Enough? For whom? The Universe always had enough to be complete. Enough for my soul, my consciousness.

And I agree...funds are a meaning that can enable. Yourself and others. That's why I'm here. But also knowledge, experience, motivation, ideas. We need all these resources.

Cheers,

Manol

I personally have never wondered about what my "purpose in life" is, or if I even have a purpose in life. I have wondered what it is that compels some of us to seek out and discover this purpose for their lives, while others (like me) have no interest in finding such a defining purpose.

Logically, humans are simply one biological specimen in a veritable sea of biological specimens of life here on earth. Does every single life-form on earth have a specific, individually-assigned, unique purpose?

Is there a purpose for your pet dog's life? Something that the dog needs to seek out or be aware of so it will know when they fulfill it? It isn't likely. So why is it important to us? Is it our intelligence that makes us special in this regard or is it our imagination?

I think it could even be that humans are laden with a bit too much hubris at times. :)

We all seem to be pushed to be goal oriented a soon as we are consciously aware. It nice to stop, just enjoy life and not be obsessed with more and better things.

As you wrote, the universe does not care about your goal pursuits. It doesn’t give a rat’s ass about building up one’s bank account or that big house. 😊 🐀 💜

You really hit the nail right on the head with this one @zekepickleman! So important for us all to reflect on the importance of what we are "doing" It's not only the right thing to do, but it sure feels better! And....no stress involved, lol Great post!

Hi @zekepickleman. I understand. Constantly giving of yourself can drain you completely. and you're correct in that if you practice this over and over year in and year out, you lose yourself or push it so far in the recesses of your mind, you forget what you once desired.

Kindness is solely a heart thing my friend and once you give it free rein, or reign over your life amazing things start to happen. Often in surprising ways that cannot be easily explained.
The world clogs the mind and resultant actions often end up into an aimless drift. Kindness to the self and to all others is the real answer to life's problems.
Blessings!

The universe doesn't give a healthy turd about my goal-based pursuit.
The older I get the more I understand this. And yes, it takes a whole lot of pressure off to perform. Joy is easier to reach. I like this thought of yours.

Yes, those are very deep thoughts, @zekepickleman. Reading this I realized that a part of me believes there is no wrong path. I mean, of course there are paths where you have to struggle and scrape all along the way to survive, and there are paths where a person might spend 20 years chasing promotions and money, only to find at the end of those two decades, not the anticipated feeling of fulfillment but a yearning to live life more meaningfully, paired with a desire not to have wasted 20 years. But the fact is, that time wasn’t a waste. It was time spent coming to the realization that a life must have meaning and real purpose. So even the wasted time was worthwhile!

Little gestures of kindness means a lot to some people. We may not know when that little helping hand can go a long way for some. Although here in our country there are those who takes opportunity of the kindness of people. Beggars on the streets who are controlled by a syndicate, people who would approach you and say that they need money to get home but in fact they are just using a sad story to get money from you, women who carries babies around in afternoon heat to beg for money which is also involved in a syndicate. Help those who truly need help and be vigilant to determine what is a scam and what is not. That way we could truly be happy to the goodness we have done to those who are really in need.

The universe is responsible for giving you back in life what you gave with love. you put passion into everything you do, even your thoughts.

It's true. We really do get hung up on goal based success and "succeeding" to the point we pollute our rivers and air to do it. Being kind to people doesn't have a monetary reward, but it certainly is an awesome thing to do.

I don't actually ever wonder what my purpose in life is. I try to be the best version of me that my soul allows. Of course, if I had more money, I am sure I would use it to better the world, who doesn't want to pass on a new and improved place to their offspring?

I try to be kind and fair in all facets of my life. If I had to pick a purpose in life, I would guess it would be to show that kindness and tolerance really do count.

Thanks, Zeke!
