I had a little epiphany on my way to work today. Here's a video that I made talking about it. Although we are currently at war with the Tron Foundation, there are still a lot of great things happening on the STEEM blockchain. As we now see, the STEEM community is capable of making a big difference in the world. We should mobilize ourselves as a global digital force to help combat the coronavirus outbreak. I call this mission OPERATION ASCLEPIUS!
Asclepius is a great hero and god of medicine in ancient Greek mythology.
Healthcare systems around the world are currently getting clogged by coronavirus patients. People still need help. People still need to see doctors. Many for reasons other than the virus itself. The hospitals themselves are full. They can't take any non-critical patients at the moment. What the world needs is a good, online, mobile
and decentralized network of verified doctors and physicians that can give real-time information to help people that aren't even in the same room as them. I think STEEM is capable of doing this.
A legitimate Medical Hive (community) should be established (call it steemMD maybe), perhaps with it's own front-end (steemMD.com?). We need to come up with some way to verify credentials of doctors and physicians. Once verified, they can be given @steempeak badges to correspond to the type of doctor they are. People will be able to come to the site, make a post to explain symptoms and receive feedback from real doctors. The STEEM blockchain is public, so don't expect any HIPAA laws to apply here (unless we create some sort of PGP encrypted messaging system for private consultations). An SPS proposal should be set up to fund an account that will power-up and upvote responses by verified doctors. This will compensate doctors for the help they provide (and they can even work from home while under self-quarantine!).
It would be awesome to see what STEEM can do to help the world combat the coronavirus pandemic.
Join me in Operation Asclepius.
and STEEM on!
