Enjoy the Magnificent View of Athens from the Acropolis in Greece ~ Travel Photography 📷

A visit to the famous Acropolis ruins in Athens back in the year 2010 presented me with this astonishing view of the whole of Athens in the distance. The Acropolis relic is high up on a steep hill, so negotiating the steepness of the steps is a bit of a task to be honest. However, the spectacular scenery viewed from the top is well worth the climb. Athens is an amazing city to visit, especially if you have an interest in historical architecture. You may notice that the old steps of the main Amphitheatre have been replaced and the building made safe for live concerts and music festivals. The sound quality is quite amazing so I was informed by the local Tour Guide at the time of visiting. After many hours of walking up and down so many stone stone steps and marvelling at all the stone carved statues it was nice to get back on the coach for a well earned rest. Please enjoy the photos below...

The "Odeon of Herodes Atticus" as it is known, is a spectacular stone Amphitheatre that was built on the South-Western slope of the Acropolis in 161 AD and then much later renovated in 1950. Magnificent!
