Wonderful day at Salinac Lake - sailing regatta, silver and friendship :)

I can't believe it's been eight months since my last post. Weel, there are many reasons for this, but I wouldn't write about it. Basically, a lot of beautiful things happened to me during this time and I visited wonderful places to write about.

I will start with a sailing regatta on Salinac Lake. Salinac Lake is not the largest or the most beautiful lake in the world, but is ours, the only one we have. On this small lake, no larger than 20 hectares, located eight kilometers from Smederevo, the first regatta for the youngest sailors was held at the end of August. My son Vuk has been training sailing for two years. He loves this sport a lot. You guessed it, he was one of the participants. :)

The rules have been slightly modified. A one-on-one sailboat race is organized for children aged eight to ten in the Optimist class. About thirty kids from four Serbian clubs participated, three from Belgrade and one from Smederevo. The atmosphere was fantastic. We all (proud parents) cheered loudly! :) Particularly loud were the kids cheering for friends from their clubs.

It was very exciting, especially since Vuk was winning and winning.... :)

And finally the final race, Vuk and Jana. It was exciting, but unfortunately Jana deservedly arrived at the finish a little earlier than Vuk. Still, Vuk was delighted with the silver medal. For all of us who cheered for him, at that moment, silver shone like gold.

After awarding medals to the winners and symbolic prizes to all participants, a visit to the museum and fortress of Smederevo was organized. The young sailors went through time together with the curator of the Smederevo Museum.

We will never forget this day. We had a fantastic time, and Vuk got his first medal and motivation to be even better. In fact, the most important thing is that he enjoys this fantastic sport.
