That day we went to our house in Pallikabi. At this time none of his descendants lives in this house. But his memory is all over the courtyard of the house.
Poet's house on the banks of the river Kumar inside the city of Faridpur. There is a large sitting area next to the front door. Where there was a bamboo garden at that time, and the Padma river flowed through it.
Here came poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Kazi Nazrul wrote the poem, "Ekadashi's moon in the sky alone" in the bamboo garden sitting on the mat provided by Pallikabi. At present, a fair is held in the middle of a year to commemorate his memory on the banks of the river Kumar.
Pallikabi's house is much the same as before. He has his own living room, brother's house, wife's and parents' house. In his room there are old beds, tables, books, booklets, pictures, clay bones etc.
On the very first night of the poet's marriage, a thief stole all of his wife's jewelry. The great thief did not spare him.
Inside this complex is the family cemetery. Beautifully guarded. There are pallikabirs and graves. And there is the pomegranate tree, which the three immortal poet wrote, "In this place under the pomegranate tree of your grandmother, .....".
Although the pomegranate tree was newly planted in the same place as the previous one, it is dead.
The Jasim Museum is adjacent to the cemetery. Some of his poems, naksikantha, pictures, etc.
Everyone here is bound to be a bit naughty. That is to say, time will not be wasted. When viewing the house, 9am to 5pm.
