Smederevo Fortress!

I was looking at photos of our trips ... because sometimes we get together with a friend and choose a destination to visit. This time it's the Smederevo Fortress. It was badly damaged in World War II when the train exploded. In recent years, they have been able to renovate it, and now one central part is almost completely renovated. It looks good enough to use when shooting medieval series and movies. We just came across some regular props. We toured the fort where we were allowed to climb ...

The main complex is surrounded by a water channel and enters the bridge.

The main square from which the stairs climb to the top of the tower.

When you climb to the top of the walls, there is a path and it runs around the whole bustle, and you come to the tower and you can climb all the way up ... and watch the Danube ..

Now let's go up ..😊

There are two rows of walls ... then we came out in front of the first row of walls .... and since we were followed by rain and clouds ... we were just looking forward to the sun ... and the fort looked better ..

That looks like a large fortress and it seems there is still a lot of work to do, but it is already looking quite nice and interesting. I think you had a good day there, @suzana72 😊

Yes, there is more work to do, but the fort is beautiful. Everything was interesting to me ... I like fortresses, castles a lot ...@johannpiber🤗

Yes, such old castles are cool and interesting places and there's a lot to explore.
I think it is important to restaurate such buildings and they can also earn some money when tourists come and visit them.

I agree with you. They organized a nice visit to the fort. They charge for entry ... and so with donations they slowly settle ......
Old castles are mysteries .. and you can always expect some secret passage😉

There are always some secrets to find in old castles, but as a tourist you will mostly find the ones they want you to find ;)
Of course they charge for the entry. This way they can carry on restaurating and make the castle more beautiful and enjoyable.
