Traveling the World #170 - Pop Up Market @ Bangkok, Thailand

Hi Everyone,

Bangkok is full of markets - big, small, close, far, you name it. That is also one thing why Asian cities always full of action all the time, there is always something on in a random suburb. This time, I came across a pop up market just right outside Trimurti Shrine near Central World.

The market was mainly food with an isle with just normal touristy goods. As the location is pretty touristy, makes sense they sell those kinds of products. There are also lots of dried food for those who want to take home like durian snacks. My main goal here is for the food as I was pretty hungry after my massage so I had a quick glance at what was available. There were plenty of noodle dishes (dried or soup based), rice and traditional Thai dishes. They are mostly ready made and when you order something, they will re-heat it for you on the wok for a few minutes.

There are also seafood dishes which was also pretty popular. Big prawns and lobsters can be seen already cooked and again will be heated up when you have chosen your dish. They are not cheap though so do shop around to see if you can get a better deal at other stores.

There were many foreigners there in particular of the location and there was plenty of clean seating for people to enjoy their meals. The only downside here is there is no air con and with a roof until this heat, the temperature in there seemed too much for me to stay for a bowl of noodles. They do have fans but doesn’t do much in my opinion. In conjunction with the woks around the place heating up food, this doesn’t help with the situation at all. The prices here are a lot higher than those you see at other markets partly due to the location but it has a good location and is good for those who are visiting quickly and don’t want to go inside the shopping centre to find food.

大家好，在泰國，到處都是市場. 有不同形式的所以跟很多亞洲城市都是一樣. 今次我碰到一個在 Central World 附近一個市場，主要是買吃的東西. 逛了一圈就覺得環境很好但非常熱. 這裡有賣很多粉面，飯，海鮮，水果等等. 還有乾貨但主要都是買可以吃的東西. 價錢跟外面比是貴了一點但因為地點問題，價錢貴可以明白的. 最後我都沒有在這裡吃因為這的非常熱，雖然有風散但這的不足夠讓我可以舒服的吃一個中午飯.
