Axeman's Travelfeed #009 - Streets of Rehovot Part 1

This time we will go into some not so long street photography journey at quite a small city Rehovot in Israel. We had our trip there earlier this year and stayed there for 10 days at the house of good friend of mine quite a bit travelling around Israel too. That's not our first trip and few years ago we stayed in Tel-Aviv actually, but distances is not really huge there anyway.
Funniest (or maybe not too much) thing is that's second time we are coming into coldest week of the season. First time we were in February and, while at had to be some 15-18 degrees, we got few days with snow in Jerusalem and ice rain in Tel-Aviv. So this time we decided to be more clever and come in April, while it is still not too hot, supposedly had to be some 25-28 degrees... and we got 16-20 for almost all our stay there. So this land is definitely not for us, we have other religion.. :D
But back to topic. We were not going outside of Rehovot every day, so had plenty time just to walk around the city, which has quite a handful of interesting locations.
City was established in 1890 by Polish Jewish immigrants and it is actually pretty close to Tel-Aviv with a present population at about 130 thousands people. Actually mostly same as my native town Klaipeda.
Generally it has one main central road which we will go right away and starting with some interesting signs and details
Well, all the visual set is in black and white. This normally fits street photography very well

Talking about street photography it is normally understood that it has to actually represent local people moving around and making the city streets alive. At this point street photography is not really my favorite genre. I don't really like to much to point my lenses straight to the faces of the strangers... But well, for this purpose I do have this magic 16-300mm lens, which is x1.6 on crop factor and allows really to shoot far away and even from other side of the street not making people around too much nervous....
And here we go to next part of the set with actual people interacting with city signs...
Israel is quite multicultural country, so you can see really variety of nationalities and colors of skin

Every new place for me is a possibility to get really quite a lot of shots, obviously. But do not want really to overload the post with hundreds of photos, which nobody will scroll down anyway.
That's why part 2 still to follow. And today's post will finish with some interesting points of view with reflections and some examples of local autos...

A wonderful tour of the ara, I visited there maybe 28 Years ago I am sure it has changed a lot since then
I to am not good at taking photos of people on the street and the odd time I try always with my longest lens LOL
Long time back really.. of course things changing a lot, but believe something is still same.. :)
