How's it going Travelfeeders and Steemers?

Let me continue my East Africa adventure, with our next stop Meserani Snake Park. This will be our base camp for the next 4 days as we head out to explore the Ngorongoro crater and the mighty Serengeti!

Also did I mention we arrived here on New Years eve? 🎉🎉 So this is where we will bring in the new year of 2020!!

Now the Meserani Snake Park is an awesome campsite. With an amazing bar but we will get back to that in a minute.

The best part about Meserani Snake Park is the name is not misleading at all! It is located 25kms out of Arusha and is home to some of the most dangerous snakes in the world!

Here you can see the BLACK MUMBA

As well as a GREEN MUMBA.

Plus loads more snakes to check out.

When you camp here you get a free guided tour of the snakes and reptiles.

This place is also home to some orphaned and injured birds that wouldn't be able to survive in the wild, like this owl,

Hawk.

Also a couple of crocodiles

A Gharial crocodile.

You can even handle a snake. Renee seemed to love this haha.

There is also a masai museum there.

Now let's talk about the bar!

The beers are cold! As well as enough memorabilia hanging from the roof and walls to keep you interested for hours.

Now my favourite part was meeting Ma.

Ma and her husband built this camp grounds in 1993 when it was just a dirt patch. They have turned it into an amazing spot for overland trucks, campers and anyone on their way to the Serengeti or Ngorongoro crater.

Now Ma has this book that is filled with stupid things tourists say. It's a must read when you're having a couple of drinks at the bar.

As it was NYE Ma put on a couple of roast goats for dinner for everyone 😊

Then it was on to celebrate at the bar to end 2019.

The night was full of awesome stories from Africa and we all celebrated the count down at the bar. We kept the dream going until Ma had enough of us and kicked us out. A sneaky 500ml beer then it was time for bed.

Good times. Except for the killer hang over in the morning haha. But that was short lived as we packed up to head towards the Ngorongoro crater.

We donated a hat that we all signed to the bar.

Which is now hanging up at the bar 😊

Stay tuned for more blogs about this trip.

Thanks for stopping by

Happy travels

Astonishing wildlife shots. I have never been to a snake park. Sounds like a place I would enjoy though :) Thanks for showing us around guys. My pleasure to get you some extra support for your post.

You would love this snake park in Africa. It was so cool to see a black MUMBA up close in real life. Cheers for the upvote mate 👍
