72 Dangerous Place to Live (series): Starts fine but then becomes strangely boring and annoying

This 6 episode mini-series is a documentary about exactly what the title says. It is presented in a fashion that is a sign of the times in that each presentation is just a few minutes long so as to not lose those of us with low attention spans - which is pretty much everyone these days, right?

It is reasonably entertaining but gets surprisingly boring after just one episode and fails to really entice continued viewing. Also, and this is expected, the Netflix global warming agenda is continually thrown at us and is likely a big part of the reason why it is on here in the first place.

The reason why this is annoying is because they have several areas of the world that are on their list and are considered "dangerous" purely because of global warming oriented stuff such as glaciers receding and this is making ocean levels rise. Therefore, this low-lying island in the pacific was considered more dangerous than areas in that are riddled with constant bombing and civil war. I don't know about you, but i would much rather calmly load my family onto a boat because the sea levels are rising 2cm a year than to have to dodge machine gun fire and avoid IED's in order to go to school.

Some of the locations are quite obvious such as war-torn areas and places that are subject to landslides and the high population and pollution, but then there are a few places like Centralia, Pennsylvania that I had never heard of. This entire city had to be abandoned because of an underground coal fire that has been burning since the 60's and made it rather unlivable.

Some of the location choices were a bit dumb such as ALL OF NEPAL being on the list because of an event that happened once in recent history. Just because a place has an earthquake one time doesn't mean the entire country is "dangerous." If earthquakes happened there with great frequency I would understand but by using that logic any place that has ever been hit by a typhoon or tsunami should also be "dangerous."

Whatever, it just irritated me a bit but I think they had to fill up the episodes with something and probably didn't have footage of actual dangerous areas because they are too dangerous.

You can tell simply from the trailer that they don't have much of a production budget and it shows in the actual episodes as well. Just like the title says, the show gets old pretty quick and I can't really imagine anyone watching all 6, 45-minute episodes. One was enough for me and therefore I can't really recommend this show - especially since they seem to have an agenda rather than pointing out the actual most dangerous places to live.

My overall rating!

Seems like damn interesting from the name, but trailer wasn't upto the mark though and when you mentioned that Nepal was included then it became more worse. these guys mentioned such a places which clearly don't come up on dangerous places to live criteria.
This was the reason why I haven't heard about this show earlier.
Anyways, Keep flourishing.

I am definitely going to skip this one. That is pretty crazy that they would say some of those other places are more dangerous than say Israel or Palestine. Did they have the tornado belt of the US in there? Even that has started to shift for whatever reason. Could be global warming, could just be some cyclical trend that the planet takes. I had heard of that place in PA before. I got an alert the other day that certain camping sites we typically like to reserve for the Summer are going to be closed this year because the water level of Lake Huron has risen so much that they are flooded. Crazy stuff!

I remember my dad telling me the story of Centralia, PA. Him and my mom grew up just about 20 or so miles away from there. I think it started as a fire in a trash dump. The fire ignited exposed coal seem under dump or something like that. I think it was in the 60's. He would tell me about people not having to shovel snow, for at least a few years anyhow. Sounds like that may have been the most exciting part of this show you talk about.. Bummer :-/

As you say they don't have enough footage with no budget to make it a decent series. Just shows you what crap people consume.
