ULog#37: Fall Break

avatar
(Edited)

Fall break is going as planned. The weather forecast told me that it could snow on Sunday, so I took the liberty to take the kids out to the aquarium. Lucky for us, it was a warm day, though it was a bit windy.

For those of us that dwell in Utah, the temperamental weather during seasonal changes is a norm. I imagine the weather will flop back and forth until we are near Thanksgiving.

I thought I could share some photos at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium for kicks and giggles. It's rather small for similar establishments I have been to in the past. I used to live in the tri-state area where I could access the National Aquarium with ease, so it's not easy to impress me.

The children seem to love sharks. At least, I haven't seen any one of them cry about them. Then again, these aren't particularly giant ones. You can't complain too much being in a landlocked state.

I have only noticed a single sea turtle in the tank. But the creature garnered a lot of attention from the visitors.

Of course, the aquarium here also caters to other aquatic animals such as penguins and otters. I don't recall ever seeing them in the National Aquarium back when I used to visit. The kids love them, so no complaints from me.

Speaking of aquatic animals, here are some water fowls.

They were rather friendly to the passing human traffic.

Though an aquarium, the place actually hosts desert-based creatures unique to the state. In addition, there is also a rain forest exhibit. So, it's got a bit of terrarium going despite its namesake.

Anyways, I decided to take some time to blog about some of the happenings in life. I have been somewhat removed from all the meta stuff on Steem. Is it the low price? Nah, I'm tired of all the shenanigans from many users.

I have been having more fun simulating Hunger Games battle royale in the SFR server. So far, @lordbutterfly and @josephsavage have each won a single round. There are some rather humorous random events during the simulations. I may share them in a post in the future.

Since the SFR bot tends to sit on 100% VP a lot of the times, I have chosen to use excess SFR tokens to upvote their work. No lame posts, of course. I still maintain some standards even when it comes to shitposts. Hope @anthonyadavisii wouldn't mind.

Other than that, I have tried out that USB camping light device I talked about in previous posts. I will most likely have a post ready in the upcoming days. In fact, I have several #STEM posts in the works, but I haven't had the time to polish them.

As I have mentioned before, the end of the year has many holiday-related events to attend. I often find it somewhat difficult to stay on top of it all until New Year's. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

The SFR Hunger Games battles are great!! If one can survive a game without some random weird act happening they deserve an SFR vote. Lol.

Who let the ducks out?? I had a few Toms to deal with this morning. I got out and they let me get within 10 feet of them.

Aquariums are always a great time. They never get old in my book. I could sit and watch the sea turtles cruise around for hours. My kids tend to cruise through the aquarium, I have to stop them and say look!! Then they slow down a bit.

I will be the next SFR Hunger Games Winner, I have been training hard for this one. Hahaha

I like visiting zoos and aquariums as I got older.

Did you catch any of them wild turkeys?

Oh, the "Hunger Games" are so random, it's dumb. lol

I am devising a plan on how I can catch one to have for thanksgiving dinner. Lasso, gunnysack, and a hammer. That is what I have so far. Them things got some big spurs on them.

So random, so stupid, so...

AWESOME

Dahahaha

They were taken with my phone. I’m just glad people could make out what I took.
