I was excited ! I got invited to a Wedding !

I wasn't sure what to expect nor what should I do ... I was worried that I would offend the family of the bride and groom so I asked my fellow colleagues for advise.

Things to do:-
i. Dress code - casual
ii. Be at dinner venue by 6.30pm although the invitation says 6.00pm
iii. Place the Lucky Money into the invitation card which I received and seal it. Drop it into the Lucky Money box placed at the reception table
iv. It's a must to Mot, Hai, Ba, Yo -> similar to Cheers ! ( all night long )
v. Dinner usually ends by 9.30pm

Okay.. All this seems acceptable to me and I can work with it.

More photos with team

I arrived at 6.25pm and there was already many guests seated. I found my way around my colleagues who were still very new to me; but I managed as always. Once the drinks started to around, it was easier to mingle with everyone. The dishes when it came is very different from what I'm used to in a Chinese Wedding. There were five main dishes; all meat except for the last dish which was noodles. I didn't get to take all the photos since it wasn't very polite of me to do so. Only managed to catch a few. Instead it was more people photos which I caught.

Performance of the Night

Because both bride and groom have worked in the same company before; more like they met in this same company; majority of the tables were for employees of this company. There were at least 10 tables with the sign SOMERSET. And when the drinks started to flow unlimitedly, it felt like SOMERSET STAFF PARTY! Some even went on stage and let their voice cords do the rest of the work. Talk about impromptu performance; they sure don't need to hire any performance when the guests are so willing to go on stage and perform.

I did catch a photo with the bride and groom before I sneaked out to go home. Just too much beer for one night. Absolutely not my usual standard of drinking since beer isn't in my list of favourite alcohol. Nevertheless, it's an experience of attending a wedding in Vietnam.

What I like most is that it's starts early and ends early too!
Weddings back home in Malaysia should learn & practice this.
