I have only started playing Splinterlands for maybe 2 months now. I used to struggle a lot in the begginning, however I have received a lot of help and suggestions from other amazing Splinterland players. Now I understand a bit more about the game and enjoy it a lot. I really enjoy drawing so it was great to see that there is a Splinterlands Art Contest. I know I had to enter.

I decided to draw an existing character, the famous Summoner: MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE .
The Art on the Splinterland cards are amazing, that is one of the reasons why I keep on playing and collect the cards.

So why did I draw Mimosa?
So after playing for some time, whenever I face an opponent who uses Mimosa, I lose 99% of the time.
She is a very powerful Summoner and that is why I decided to draw her. The price of the card is super expensive lol. These legendary summoners are too expensive. I will need to budget to get a max level one in the future.

Here is the final artwork, spent several hours across a couple of days to finish it.

MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE - Fan Art

The drawing is based on the card art of MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE. I used it as a reference.

This artwork is from https://splinterlands.com/ @steemmonsters

I do not who the artist is, but the art is awesome. If you do, please let me know in the comment section below.

I decided to keep the pose of Mimosa as I think it is a very powerful pose. I changed the hair a bit, and the expression. The expression on the original artwork is a bit angry, so in my one, I made her smile with confidence.

Now I will show the steps of how I created the drawing

Art Process

I am using a drawing tablet: Huion h610 pro v2 to create this drawing. I have been working on digital art mainly these days.

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Rough Sketch of the drawing:

0.jpg

Hahaha, this rough sketch looks nothing like Mimosa, but that is okay, as the rough sketch is just to get a general outline of the drawing and the pose. In this case, I maintained the pose of Mimosa as it is very powerful.

Step 2: Fixing the rough lines

1.jpg

Here I worked on removing some of the rough lines and working a bit on the face and the expression. Again, not much detail is required at his stage. You can see that I also changed the hair style slightly at this stage.

Step 3: Adding base Colors

2.jpg

In this step, I add in the base colors for the drawing. It does not have to be exact. This is just to get a rough idea of the color to use.

Step 4: Adding Detail to the face

3.jpg

In this step, I drew the eyes in my style, a bit more semi-realistic. I also added a scar to make her look more powerful. This step probably took the longest out of all the steps.

Step 5: Refining the Hair

4.jpg

In this step, I made the hair smoother. Not really realistic hair, similar to the card. I just made the hair longer.

Step 6: Adding Detail to the Clothing

5.jpg

This step took a bit of time too, but the clothing design on the card was great, so I did not change much of it.

Step 7: More Refining

6.jpg

Now the clothing is refined, and I added the magic energy.
It is almost complete, just need a background.

And that is it. Thanks for checking out the post and hope that you like it.

Hope that you enjoyed go through the post.
