A few days ago I saw a publication by a WhatsApp group which caught my attention and it seemed a curious fact and I decided to do some research on the subject and share it with you.
La persona que compartió la foto realizo un comentario jocoso sobre la misma diciendo “amigos médicos estudiemos las consecuencias de conducir a altas velocidades, les dejo este caso, ¿Cuáles son las consecuencias al conducir de 15 a 20 km/hora? jajajajaja”

La publicación era una foto de un periódico, su título es “Primer choque en Caracas, un problema que necesita solución”, reseña del periódico “El Universal” de fecha 12 de Julio de 1.913.

En dicho artículo describen el hecho de la siguiente manera “dos de esos vehículos de motor que llaman impropiamente automóviles, y que andan por esas calles a 15 hasta veinte kilómetros por hora, tuvieron un encontronazo nada menos que en el ombligo de la ciudad, en la propia esquina de Las Gradillas. Es increíble cómo han cambiado las cosas ya a casi 108 años de este suceso podemos observar cómo las personas consideraban muy mal vistos los vehículos, ya que parecían maquinas que habían creado solo para lucrarse, las cuales atentaban contra la salud, la sociedad, la iglesia y la ciencia misma. Recordemos que para aquel entonces nuestros antepasados utilizaban las mulas de carga para transportar las cosas de un lugar a otro, formaban los arreos (que son un grupo de mulas de carga) y se iniciaban en largos viajes de muchas veces hasta semanas para transportar la comida, medicamentos, licores, vestimenta, calzado y todo tipo de mercería.

Lo que en esta reseña se observa es el descontento de la población con los automóviles, hasta una consigna crearon ¡ ¡ Atrás automóviles!!, considerando esta como la voz del patriotismo y del buen sentido del venezolano, afirmando que la posteridad agradecería el haberlos librado de esta tremenda amenaza; porque así lo consideraban, una amenaza que crearía caos y traerían desgracia a la Caracas bonita a la que estaban acostumbrados.

Para la actualidad venezolana hoy 07 de Junio del 2.021 podemos observar la evolución automovilística, donde muchas personas se han aferrado a los autos y se han vuelto dependientes de ellos. Pero existe una situación muy particular, que es la escasez de la gasolina, lo que hoy todos llamamos “el preciado líquido” donde por todo el País se pueden observar largas colas, muchas de estas que duran semanas y las personas pernoctan en las mismas, llevando su hamaca o colchoneta para dormir, haciendo sus comida y hasta sus necesidades en el lugar y todo esto para la adquisición de un poco de combustible.

En una oportunidad en nuestra ciudad de Carora se apreciaron 3 choques simultáneamente, los cuales se produjeron para la obtención del líquido ya que los encargados publican por redes sociales el sitio donde se hará la cola y la gente sale como alma que lleva el diablo para poder obtener un numero para surtir gasolina.

Es de aplaudir a estas personas que son ejemplo a seguir, ya que para nadie es fácil estar acostumbrados a cargar un carro y volver atrás 100 años.

En algo no se equivocaron nuestros ancestros, que es una amenaza pero siempre y cuando sean mal utilizados, existen muchos accidentes de tránsito pero la mayoría es por conducir a altas velocidades, en estado de embriagues, autos en mal estado, irrespetando las leyes de tránsito o dando a un menor de edad un auto para conducir; los accidentes también existen y son parte del riesgo de la vida.
