Blast from the past - Renault Maxi Megane Kit Car

avatar

Hi, friends!

It is really difficult to choose the best kit car from '90's because competition was great at that time. Many manufacturers found interesting to compete in F2 championship which were 2 liters front wheel drive cars.

Some of them are: Peugeot, Seat, Renault, Citroen, Hyundai...

Peugeot, Seat and Citroen were the best from what I remember and I remember very good almost everything about this sport.

Renault Megane Maxi or kit car came little bit later then others but it was very powerful with around 300bhp and beautiful noise of the engine which revved up to 9000rpm or more.

Most of the works drivers were from France: Jean Ragnotti, Phillip Bugalski etc.

Watch this piece of rallying history and enjoy...

Huh, I forgot that there was a time when the Megane wasn't this hatchback-y style of a car. It looks pretty good, and it sounds amazing when it's revs all the way up to full chuff at 9,000RPM! My ears bleed, and it's all worth it 🔊🎶

maybe it's even higher 'cos Peugeot 306 Maxi revved up to 11k. I know a guy that drove Megane Maxi but didn't see him for a while. I will ask him when i see him

Damn, 11,000RPM?! Now that's spine-tingling amounts of RPM, and in a Peugeot. I wonder how many engine rebuilds that's going to take over its lifetime... It would be pretty awesome to hear one in person :-D
