Petter Solberg to drive Citroen C3 WRC with Pirelli tires at Power Stage of WRC Rally Sardinia 2020

Some miracles are happening these days and we have another one: WRC 2003 world champion Petter Solberg will drive Sainteloc Team's Citroen C3 WRC with Andreas Mikkelsen in the co-driver's seat.

Mikkelsen is known as a Pirelli WRC tires test driver but he felt from the motorbike a few weeks ago and broke his collarbone and some ribs. So it is still unknown in how good shape he is today. But he still has some 12 days until that Sunday when Power Stage will be held.

Petter Solberg was Citroen's driver but only as a privateer. That was afte Subaru left the WRC at the end of 2008. In February 2009 Solberg bought Citroen Xsara WRC and formed his private WRC team. But as a privateer he couldn't achieve much. He even didn't have and win from those days.

In 2012 he became Ford's works driver for only one season and after that he left the sport.

In 2018 and 2019 he drove some rallies as a Volkswagen works driver with Polo R5. These days his son Oliver drives those Polo R5 cars in ERC and WRC.

So we will have kinda show for our eyes with two top stars in Petter Solberg and Andreas Mikkelsen. Let it be the best...
