Easy DIY Palazzo Jumpsuit

Hello @needleworkmonday, it's been such a long time I posted the usual Monday posts. That's because I haven't done any sewing lately and a lot has been going on with me. I have terrible internet and can barely be active on hive too.

Today, I thought to share this jumpsuit I made last week. It's the second jumpsuit I'm making and I made this one is a palazzo. I love jumpsuits and I love palazzos, not a hard choice.

I used exactly two yards of fabric to make this, the top part is cut together with the sleeves and a simple round neck. I used a bias to turn in the neckline to make it neat.

The zip is what we call an invisible zip, because the zipper is not seen. Sewing it on was a lot easier than I thought especially because my machine has no special zip footer in it.

I used the same pattern I used in this jumpsuit, the difference is the palazzo style which is only fitted up to the hips and then loose downwards. In the first jumpsuit, I used a crotch length of 12 inches and it wasn't long enough. For this one I used 13 inches and it's still a bit uncomfortable. Now I know to use at least 14 inches length.

After sewing, I took it to a sewing shop and weaved the inseams myself, I finally know how to operate a weaving machine without ruining my work.

I wore it today and I feel really good.

Excellent, now I want one of these. You make it look very simple 😍.

What do you mean when you said:

After sewing, I took it to a sewing shop and weaved the inseams myself, I finally know how to operate a weaving machine without ruining my work.

?

Why have you taken it to a sewing shop and what is a weaving machine? 🙃😅

I actually meant an over locking machine. I called it weaving because that's what we call it here. I ran an overlock stitch to prevent the edges from fraying. I don't have the function in my machine so I had to go out to get it done.

Ooh, I catch it. Here we call "la over" to the overlock sewing machine. It's soooo expensive. I would like to have it someday, it looks so useful for neat finishes.

It really is expensive. There are some normal sewing machines that have a zigzag stitch you can use for over locking too

Yes, mine has zigzag stitch. But it will never match this professional one from the "over" 😪😂
