Mint : a plant to start kitchen gardening

avatar

Hello Friends,

One evening while having tea at the balcony, a sudden thought came. Why not start a balcony / kitchen garden?
But where and how to start with something in which you have zero experience or knowledge?

Then I got basic information by watching videos, blogs and books .
But theoretical knowledge is not useful unless you experience it yourself.
So, at last,
I decided to plant a mint, but why mint ? I read some where,

Those who have no experience in gardening can grow it by planting mint.

The only thing to take care of while planting mint is that they need sunlight, but in summer when the sun is very bright, they should be kept in a place having shadow.

There are two ways to apply mint.

  1. Cut mint sticks at 45 ((where the leaves come from) and put it in a glass of water, change the water every 7-8 days.

  2. Sticks cut at 45 should be placed in a pot. Usually new leaves start appearing in 10-15 days.
To prepare following steps can be used.

Add dry soil with fertilizer, compost and mix them well.

You can add some dried leaves also to mix followed by slight water before putting mint sticks to the pot.

Avoid strong sunlight to the plant.

When new leaves sprout / new leaves appear over the plant you planted ; The joy of seeing it is un-explainable!

When to use Mint at home

Very few people know that peppermint is an herb that works as a medicine.

Peppermint helps in reducing the dryness of hair due to its aphrodisiac properties. Due to this, the hair dandruff and their lifeless fall or breakage is reduced, due to which the hair starts growing naturally.

The use of mint can give relief from the feeling of nausea, because mint has digestive properties which help to keep your digestive system healthy.

Sometimes eating junk food or eating spicy food causes indigestion and stomach ache. Brewing mint or tea of mint provides relief.

Thanks
