Danube swimming Neuburg 2020 / Donauschwimmen Neuburg 2020 (Part 1/2)

Today the largest winter swimming in Europe took place in Neuburg an der Donau. With 1900 participants covering a long distance in the cold river, swimming or driving, it is an annual spectacle of my little town. Some brave people even go for a short distance to the Danube without protective equipment. The self-made masks and floating accompanying objects are practically a carnival parade in the Danube. It is fun for participants and spectators on the banks. I am bringing a two-part image report with 40 images, part 1 is starting now!

Heute fand das größte Winterschwimmen Europas in Neuburg an der Donau statt. Mit 1900 Teilnehmern die in dem kalten Fluß eine größere Strecke schimmend oder treibend zurücklegen ist es ein jähliches Spektakel meiner kleinen Stadt. Einige Mutige gehen sogar ohne Schutzausrüstung für eine kleinere Strecke in die Donau. Die selbst gefertigten Masken und schwimmenden Begleitobjekte sind praktisch ein Faschingsumzug in der Donau. Each group has an identification tag with them, the participants come from different countries.

Jede Gruppe hat ein Erkennungsschild mit dabei, die Teilnehmer kommen aus verschiedenen Ländern.
