Chalermla Park a Graffiti Park in Bangkok City !!
As we know Bangkok is a big city to walk and not every time you will find those hidden gems by walking the streets even though i love walking the back streets of Bangkok city but today i decided to take the Skytrain and ride along one end of the city to see what interesting hidden treasures i might see from above you can go from one end of the city to the other end for less then $2 US and it covers a distance of just under 40km with 36 service stations that's a lot of area to cover.
So i bought myself a all day pass less then $4 US and jumped on the BTS ( Bangkok Transit System ) Skytrain after traveling about ten station , i spotted these brightly painted murals on these walls in what looked like a small park , i pulled on the brakes and out , i jumped this station was called Ratchathewi station on the BTS Sukhumvit line it was then a short 10 minute walk to this small park area called Chalermla Park.
Once in the park i couldn't believe my eyes i am one that loves good graffiti artwork and i definitely have struck a real hidden treasure here i was feeling the adrenaline of excitement and didn't know where to feast my eyes first so i took a long deep breath and in i went 😊
I was talking to a photographer in the park and he was telling me that this park changes face every couple of months the walls are painted over with new graffiti every two months or so , how interesting this would keep photographers like himself and more people coming back to see the new updated artwork.
This photographer was saying that the only graffiti that never gets painted over is the "Alex Face" apparently he is one of the respected graffiti artist well know in Bangkok for his talented artwork and he started of and taught many Thai's in the art of graffiti when he attended the Bukruk festival here in Bangkok a few years ago.
The Alex Face is seen around many parts of Bangkok city.
You could say that this cute little green area park is like an open air art exhibition and you would properly run into some famous graffiti artist if you lived in the area and visited this park more often.
Unlike most other bigger parks this is only a small park with not a lot of greenery but it draws in the crowds from all over as it's a very colorful park for selfies or colorful friends photos. There are a few benches around to sit and relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Also a little play area for the little kids and the big kids.
And then of course there is always got to be a cat or two in a park.... 😸 😸
If you are ever in Bangkok city and you are sick of looking at Temples and you like colorful professional graffiti artwork then this will be a ideal park to visit you would certainly be going home with some very colorful photos let me tell you.
Chalermla Park is open daily from 5:30am to 7pm. From the BTS Ratchathewi station, take Exit 2 and walk south about 10 minutes. Enjoy if you ever get to this open air art exhibition very worthwhile seeing.

I do remember seeing this, but must have gotten sidetracked before I left a comment. That is an incredible amount of graffiti, isn't it? Think of all the empty spray paint cans!
It is a real colorful part of Thailand and i really enjoyed looking at all this great art the tin collectors would be very happy with all these empty spray cans...lol 😂
I just posted my daughter's graffiti art and you can see how many spray cans she emptied!
Awesome i will go check it out 😊
