Wednesday Walk On "A Trail For All"
My walk today is on a short trail named "A Trail For All" aka the Lillian D. Jenifer Mobility Trail. It is a mobility path that is accessible to anyone including those with mobility issues. Mobility issues includes anyone using a cane, walker, wheelchair and even moms with strollers. The trail is located at Cromwell Valley Park in Baltimore County, Maryland.
There are other areas of the park that people with mobility issues can access also but not all areas so it was nice to see this more recent addition.
There is a small parking area directly across from the path and the path is pretty wide, level and nicely maintained.
There are several placards spaced throughout the path with information on wildlife and plants indigenous to the area.
You will also come across several benches along the way should you need to sit for a spell or if you just want to sit and take in the sights and sounds.
This time of year, many of the summer plants were gone but I still found a few including (what looked like) conehead flowers which was surprising and nice to see and some Queen Anne's Lace.
The milkweed and some other plants, although they had gone to seed, was still quite pretty!
I also found some colorful porcelain berries mixed in and although the colorful berries are pretty, the porcelain vine can be quite invasive. I'm sure they keep it for the birds to enjoy and that they keep a close eye on it to keep it in check.
The path is currently just under than 800 feet round trip but the park is looking to add to that or add additional mobility trails in the future. Hopefully, the expansion happens sooner rather than later so everyone has the opportunity to get out and enjoy all that nature has to offer. 🙂
Thank you @tattoodjay for #wednesdaywalk!!
Thats such a lovely park with the beautiful fall colors and detail you share with us, i love the idea of a park for all :)
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Thanks so much Jay!! They had added that since my last visit, which I think was in the Spring, and it is a very nice addition. I love that it enables more people to enjoy the park. 😊
Ys thats what I love about it so many parks only cater to those who are able to walk easily nice to see some effort put into making one accessible to all
Thank you very much @pixresteemer and for the beer also!! Hopefully, I will have enough soon to start sending some brewski's out as well! 😉 🍻
It is fantastic idea to make the park accessible to all with mobility issues.
The autumn colours are so nice. You captured the beautiful scenery so well Dee.
Thank you so much @nelinoeva!! It was such a nice surprise to see it and hopefully they will be adding onto it or make other paths in the park. 🙂
Nice place to walk and explore :-)
Thank you very much @manorvillemike!! Nice and close by too..lol! 😉
Isn't the autumn walk the most gorgeously colored ones..? 😊
Thanks so much @barbara-orenya!! Yes, they are and I'm so happy that we decided to stop and check out the trees there...especially finding the ones at the back of the property. 🙂 🍂
A lovely park and great with the benches set up along the trail if you need to rest.
Flowers still looking good. I’m happy to see there’s lots of milkweed for the butterflies to feed on in the spring. 💞
Thank you so much Jo!! They do have a lot of milkweed and I'm happy they do also. This was the first year that I saw a bounty of it. Makes for happy bees and butterflies. 😊 🤗
Thanks for share your Wednesday memories
