Wednesday Walk make me smile post - Around the Museum of Natural history

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

Note I want to thank @bluemist for sponsoring this challenge , due to the support I will be sending out Steem to a selection of people who partake in the Wednesday walk as I will explain in the guidelines below all of the liquid rewards for this post will be shared with a selection of participants.

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.

Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending some Steem to a selection of those who participate, please note this is a change from sending out SBI shares, as I did in the past.

Actifit

A good App that works well in conjunction with the Wednesday Walk or any day walk is @actifit, which rewards you with Actifit Tokens and Steemit Upvotes, if you use the app to track your steps and do a post of your actifit total each day.

If you do a lot of activity I do recommend you check it out

Make me Smile Collaboration

As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,

Here are the rules for her challenge

Your post can be writing, singing, video, poem,drawing, photography etc.... the most important part is your post Make me" smile, Remember, the ME is whoever read/view/listen to your post and this includes YOURSELF.
b. Your content must be ORIGINAL CONTENT
c. Please include at least 50 Words in your post

This weeks walk Photos - Around the Museum of Natural history

Starting with s shot of the front facade of the Museum, I went for a mono edit for this shot to catch the mood of the day, and from the dress of the people in shot you can tell it was a cool day and hence why I decided to go for a walk and visit the museum, it was weird the temp was cool when I got to the Museum but not to bad, but by the time I came out of the Museum the temp had dropped about 20 Degrees and it was really chilly, but as you will see later in the post I went for a walk to get back to my office afterward anyway

And I have to include this shot as this was the main part of the museum I wanted to see the Dinosaurs, I did explore most if not all of the museum on my visit and will most likely do other posts at some stage of some of the exhibits

As I said the temp had really dropped it was about 20F (-6C) when I came out and if I had come out the entrance I went in, I may have decided to catch the subway back to near my office, but once I started walking I got in the mood to keep walking for a bit so I will add this last shot at the Rockefeller Centre which I passed while walking to the office.

Weekly giveaway of shares

I was there yesterday. Grinned like an idiot the entire time, just blown away by all the dinos. Absolutely amazing exhibit!

I love the museum shots and that dinosaur exhibit must have been spectacular. I took my grandson to ours to see the dinos, but, they were nothing like your museum. WoW! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wife Jay.

What a great collaboration on this contest! Hopefully i'll be up for contributing a post to it! I just looked outside it's snowy out there and -14°C going to need a little courage to get out for this one. Your pics are great!! And, really motivating. Really appreciate that! Steem on man ❄❤🙏🔥

I love that first photo in black and white. Very striking.

I was really hoping to get back up to NY this December, but it doesn't look like that's in the cards anymore. Bummer. I would have liked to gone back to Rockefeller Centre.

What an awesome Wednesday Walk!!! I love how that dinosaur bones or skeleton 🦕 was displayed with the neck and skull extended to the other room, and taking that photo with the people gave me the perspective of its size.... incredible exhibit!!! Wow!!!
And goodness, I was pleasantly surprised with the mention on the this article! I am grateful to receive a reward from you, who have inspired my interest, and more importantly my appreciation, for almost everything around me.

Thank you again for the Steem you sent me, I really appreciate it. Looks like the weather in NY is same as here today. We had sunny day yesterday, but today is gloomy again. I am going out with my daughter and the boys, but we will play inside. Enjoy the time with your grand kids a swell 😊

That is lovely architecture on the museum! I noticed they used V instead of U in the inscribed name on the museum I wonder why (just for ease of carving?)
That is one, big, impressive dinosaur in that museum - my granddaughter would love to see it! I went to the Harvard Museum of Natural History and saw all the dinosaurs there - that was impressive too! I resteemed this so I can share with my granddaughter and to get the word out for your initiative - #Wednesdaywalk!
Was that just a stage or something they were building for the Rockefeller Christmas Tree - if so it must be massive!
Thanks for sharing and I do hope you share more of your museum pictures - I see it dates back to 1849 - fascinating!

I think on many of buildings they dud V instead of U for ease of carving but I suspect onthe one its to make it look older LOL

As for the Tree its covered scaffolding so thy can out all the lights up on it
