Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019

Another week, another snowstorm for my Wednesday Walk post - Mother Nature is certainly on a roll! Yesterday, as I was nervously staring out the window about every five seconds while out girls were out driving through the storm (they both had appointments they needed to keep, and while they said the roads were horrible, they made it there and back safe and sound), I decided that for today's Wednesday Walk, I'd check my archives for some photos. I just wasn't feeling the whole, "walk around the house in the freezing temps to take pictures of the evil four letter word that begins with S" vibe, especially since I've had a few not-so-great tremor episodes in the past few days.

Then I took Sandy out this morning, and as we walked around the yard, I kept thinking, "oooh, that would be a great shot" and "okay, now that's kinda pretty." So after he was done frolicking and snowplowing (which was pretty quick, since as I said, it was cold), I went inside, grabbed my camera and tripod, and did a quick retracing of my steps to capture some photos.

Speaking of walking, don't forget to "walk" on over to @tattoodjay's latest post, called Wednesday Walk make me smile post A walk around Milford CT which has some beautifully festive (and snow- free!) shots around Milford Connecticut. Also be sure to check out the latest #WednesdayWalk collab from the #MakeMeSmile tag hostess @elizacheng called MakeMeSmile Season 3 WednesdayWalk MakeMeSmile / MakeMeSmile 第三季 之 微笑步行星期三 which has some great shots of her walk around The Vertical Podium (where she was attending an event) whilst on the hunt for some food.

Now, on to another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk!

Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019
When I stepped out on the front porch, this is the sight that greeted me.

Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019
I walked around the side of the house and was struck by how the clouds almost perfectly outlined the trees. Nicely done, Mother Nature!

Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019
Only about six inches of fresh snow this time - all of this was bare before the storm started yesterday.

Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019
I'm thinking I should start taking a picture of these steps every week from now on...snowstorm or no snowstorm... lol!

Sunny snowball and steps

Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019
The sun hadn't quite made its way over to the side of the house with the icicles, but there was enough light to make them look pretty

Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019
Speaking of the sun, it was shining so brightly at this point that I had to point and shoot without really being able to see the shot!

Another week, another snowstorm for a Wednesday Walk December 18th 2019
And the sun was strong enough that all the snow and icicles were gone on this side of the house.... and to show the contrast, I walked back around the house...

...to get this shot, to show the difference.

Lots of melting and snow blowing around, but given the rest of the day was cloudy with snow squalls, I don't think this will all disappear soon

Love the snow frosted branches against the blue sky!

If you look closely, you can see little bits of snow blowing around... here, let me zoom in a bit more...

...can you see it now?

Again, there's something about the snowy trees and blue sky that I can't help but love.

As I was standing in the driveway taking those last shots of the pine tree, this little Dark-eyed Junco flew down and hopped around just a few feet away! Totally made me smile!

It was hard to get a clear shot of him because he bebopped around so much, and the sun was so bright, but I managed these couple of shots before he headed to our landlady's feeder across the way.

My guys on the porch were snow-free, so I left them alone this week. Instead, I took one last shot of the snow frosted tree from my first shot, then it was time to head back inside.

Happy walking & see you next week!

Thanks, @tattoodjay! I'd say it's unusual to have this much snow in December, but since you're a New Englander too, you know there's no rhyme or reason our the weather, so...LOL!

Those are fabulous photos, Traci! The snow on the pine needles looks like spring blossom and yes, a weekly photo of those stairs is a great idea. Oh, and the two sides of the house - one all plain and the other with sparkly lace....

Stay warm!

Aww, thanks so much Fiona! Wish I could airlift the snow over to your area of the world - you could use it so much more than us...

Mercifully, the wind has dropped. Hopefully that will allow the firefighters to do their work. Snow at Christmas in McGregor...🤗

I'm so glad things are slowly improving. I'll see if I can get a rush delivery on that snow... 😉 😂

Seems, at last report, your spared the trouble and a white Christmas is averted. Fires now contained and ongoing opping up and monitoring of hot spots. Change in wind direction and it would burn back on itself and out. We are all breathing again.

Next time it happens, I know who to call... 🤭🙏🤗

Beautiful shots. I love the one of the trees and clouds that are the same shape. That was quite a catch! Lucky you to live in such grandeur.

Thanks so much, @owasco! We are incredibly lucky to live in this location, and whenever I'm grumpy about the weather, it's nice that Mother Nature gives me reminders like that tree and cloud display. Appreciate you stopping by! 🤗

Seen a lot of pictures of snow floating around here, but that's the first picture of real icicles I've seen and for some reason, it shot me back about 35 years snatching them off of the garage roof as a kid and enjoying the crystal clear frozen purity of it. Good post sweets.

Aww, that's wicked cool (in more ways than one! ❄️ 😂 )! Yeah, I used to do much the same, only it's been more like 45 years for me since I was a kid and did stuff like that...

Well, well, well, fancy seeing you here, @traciyork! Congratulations on the curangel curation (I always have to choke out autocorrect when I type “curation” cuz it wants to type “citation”). Any time I can be mentioned in your company I know I must be doing something right.

Happy Friday, don’t be a stranger.

I look forward to that Traci. We are getting more snow after in January too, but whatever we got last week, it's already melted, lol.

What a neat little bird! Looks that you have had a great deal more snow than we have here in South Central Pennsylvania.

Love the pictures, really great shots! Glad you were able to share them on #PYPT.

Thanks so much, @sgt-dan! Sorry to have missed you Thursday night - figures, the time I finally make it, right? 😂

And yes, we seem to be getting more than our fair share of snow here in New Hampshire this month. I'm wondering how many stormy Wednesday walks I'm going to get in a row...LOL!
