We-Write #9: The Classroom
Alicia pondered on this, deciding whether to use her bright blue pen or her green one.
Beside her, just as Charlie was about to write the first letter of his sentence, the tip of his half-chewed pencil suddenly broke off in a resounding "Snap!"
Charlie's eyes widened as he started digging in his ratty backpack for a sharpener, or better yet, another substitute he could use to write with.
Alicia observed him for a few minutes before tapping his shoulder and offering him her bright blue pen, "Here, you can use mine instead."
Charlie wrinkled his nose at the pen's bright color, almost hesitating. Alicia saw his reaction and held out her green pen instead, "Here then, you can keep it. It matches your eyes, anyway."
With that said, Charlie accepted the green pen, murmuring his thanks. He turned back to his writing as he felt his cheeks flush.
Though Alicia noticed the tips of Charlie's ears turning red, she shrugged and started on her writing.
All this Mrs. Mowry noticed, she had a smile on her face.

Excellent use of the prompt! The teacher sees all, and she is proud of the students caring for each other. I knew a boy in grade school named Charlie who would blush at the slightest thing. That was a nice memory to have while I read this. Thanks
