She was standing with her eyes lost, confused, she felt empty, her beautiful princess dress with details in precious crystals, all a jewel, it was perfect, what she was used to, the evening breeze moved her dress, the lights, the immense green space reminded her that there was much to live, everyone asked about the birthday girl, it was a party like no other, the guests received a golden flower as a welcome to the enclosure, Mr. Smith spared no expense, her only daughter was his reason for living. She returned to the party, had a drink and many more, some were waiting for the opportunity to dance with her, they contemplated her as something untouchable, divine, an angel perhaps, her laughter as a spoiled child was heard ceaselessly, the drink was a way to alleviate her loneliness.

She lived like in a palace, there was a lot of vigilance in the place, she used to contemplate until late at night the world through her window, she could travel wherever she wanted, whenever she wanted, but she never felt the freedom, at her side an escort always protected him, she studied in the best schools, fortune smiled on him in many ways, she spoke several languages, graduated with honors and her beauty was incomparable.

She woke up, the party gave her a headache, she still had her make-up on and she didn't remember when she changed her clothes, just twenty years old, only thirteen years from her mother's accident and she remembered him almost every morning, the service lady came and helped him to take a bath, Maité, very dear to Cinthia, that maternal and gentle figure that everyone wanted to have.

She had lunch with her father, she hardly spoke, she looked very thoughtful and suddenly she began to tell him with extreme sweetness how much she loved him and how fortunate she was to have him and that in reality the only thing really valuable for her was him, they hugged each other and he corresponded her words with a gift that he had reserved for her because of her birthday, a refined watch that he sent to be for her especially, she smiled at him slightly.

That night she went to the kitchen and said goodbye to Maité, gave her a hug and a kiss, she was somewhat restless to see the attitude of Cinthia, Maité loved her very much, after the death of Mrs. Clarise, Cinthia sought in her that maternal warmth and was always corresponded selflessly.

In the morning, almost at noon, as she always went to see what was offered to the lady of the house and saw the bed still made and in it a sealed letter addressed to Mr. Smith, immediately ran to inform Maité, to take the letter her hand trembled unintentionally, her eyes watered more than usual and her voice broke remembering the attitude of Cinthia the night before, felt a weight in her heart, still recovered and called Mr. Smith.

It wasn't her daughter's own behavior so he decided to suspend all his commitments for that day, he was nervous, he complained about anything. When he arrived home, Mr. Smith hurried, the servitude surprised him to see him almost run to the meeting with Maité, practically snatched the letter from him, went to his studio trying to keep calm as always, closed the door and his eyes got wet immediately, he began to read the letter:

Dear father first of all I want you to know that I love you with all my soul, and the least I want in the world is to be a cause of sadness for you, I was thinking a lot about all this and I am aware of the pain that I produce in this moment, however I know that you are a serene and intelligent man who perhaps understands my reasons and this minimizes what you feel.

Even though I have everything I feel devoid of things that money cannot buy: I have no freedom, I feel imprisoned, constantly watched over what you call "security", my "friendships" are due to the surname I have, to what they can achieve with me or through me; soon I will work in one of your consortiums and I will always feel surrounded by hypocrisy; my life is surrounded by hypocrisy and that is killing me.

Father, I am an unhappy, sad being and I feel extremely lonely, I feel that in my twenty years I have not lived anything I would like, I want to be surrounded by honest and sincere people, I want a job where others treat me like another co-worker, to have friends who criticize me and tell me what they think, to have friends who value me for what I am not for what I have, to go out alone, to the movies wherever I want.

Anyway father, give me a chance to live my way, honestly I do not harm anyone, I have something already in mind, you know me, I inherited it from you, always so cautious, I will keep you informed of everything, I will be fine, anything I return immediately, give me a year please trust me . Tell Maité I'm fine.

I love you forever
Cinthia

I was just thinking "it cannot end here" and just then read it didn't. Great writing, I'm willing to know what's gonna happen with Cinthia and her father. Greetings.
