“Help! help!!”, Gisela screamed on the phone.
“He’s here, please come quick”, she added.
“Hey hey, relax what’s wrong? Take your time and talk. I just left your place some minutes ago. What do you mean by he’s there? Who is there?”, Her boyfriend replied over the phone.
Beep… beep! The call ended.
Neo checked his watch and it was just 3am. He had already spent the whole day with his girlfriend and just got back a couple of hours ago. He knew his girlfriend was clingy and dramatic but she wasn’t that extreme.
He gathered the little energy he had gotten from his 2 hours sleep and put on his shirt. Still very sleepy, he hurriedly washed his face, took his car keys and drove off to Gisela’s place.
“Gisela! Gigi!, it’s me open the door”, he shouted whiles knocking on her door.
After some minutes of shouting and knocking, Gisela opened the door looking fine.
“Gigi, are you okay?”, Neo asked.
“What do you mean?”, Gisela asked back.
“Gigi, you literally called me crying for help some minutes ago and you are asking me what do I mean?”
“Ohh Neo, I was watching a horror movie after you left and I thought I saw someone that looked like the killer”
“Gisela, are you even hearing yourself at all?, what is the meaning of that”
“Neo, I’m sorry, my battery died before I could say anything about the movie”
“Gigi!!! Do better, I’m leaving”
Neo went back to his place very annoyed.
Two weeks later
“Neo, are you busy? My car broke down in the middle of nowhere”, Gisela’s text came through.
“Baby, are you okay, please lock yourself in the car and stay safe. Send me your location, I’ll be right there” Neo replied and set off.
“This route looks familiar but I don’t remember anything….., aahhhhh Gisela!!!!! Gisela!”, Neo shouted hitting his steering wheel repeatedly after realizing the “middle of nowhere” was a route to the house of one of Gisela’s friends.
After another 5 minutes drive, he saw Gisela perfectly fine beside her car and right in front of her friend’s house.
“What’s the meaning of this Gigi!, Come on!! I was in a meeting and I had to lie to my boss. What’s all this”, Neo said angrily.
“Baby, I wanted you to come with me for this hangout and I knew you wouldn’t come knowing exactly what it was. I’m sorry I had to bring you here this way”, Gisela replied.
“I’m going back to the office, I don’t have time for this” Neo replied and got into his car.
Some weeks later
“Hello, is this Neo?, This is Dr Daisy. Gisela has been admitted at the hospital for some hours now. She didn’t want us to call you because of your "busy schedule" but as the only person on her emergency contact, we had to”, The Doctor said.
“Doctor is she fine? Please give me the address, I’m on my way”, Neo replied.
“Hello, please she has been discharged so we are on our way home”, Another call came through. Unable to understand what was even going on, Neo zoomed off to Gisela’s place ignoring all road signs.
“April fool!!!” Gisela and her friend screamed right after she opened the door for Neo.
“Gisela!! Ahhhh what’s all this?”
“Come on Neo, it’s first April”
“You could have waited for me to at least close from work. What sort of childish behavior is this? I can’t even keep track of how many times you’ve been doing this. I’ve been performing so poor at work because of these your inconsiderate acts. You know what? I’m tired of this. We are done”, Neo said and walked out of her place.
Gisela laughed thinking that was her boyfriend’s “April fool” prank.
Gisela called Neo so many times but he never answered. She even visited Neo but never met him at home. All her apologies were left unheard.
Neo woke up to so many missed calls from Gisela one midnight. “Help! Help!! I’m in trouble”, her text came through.
“This girl must still think I’m stupid”, he said to himself and blocked her number.
That morning
“Bro isn’t that your girlfriend? have you heard the news?”, Neo’s brother asked him.
“Did Gisela send you? I don’t have time for this”, Neo replied.
“Oh no, just see this”, his brother said.
“The body of a 24 year old lady who has been identified as Gisela Johnson was found in a pool……", the news read.
Whatttttttt!!!!!, Neo dropped his mug of coffee.

It's unfortunate how things ended. Gisela tricked Neo to the point that he didn't know when she really needed help. That's the danger of false alarms.

I am not a fan of people playing pranks because most times, it just makes people lose trust in you which isn't cool.
The prank was really too much and I would have reacted that way too but losing her life will remain a shock he might not recover from.
"You could have saved her," I bet this would continue to play in his head whenever he thinks about her.

Wow, initially I loved the "lock yourself in the car" And yes, Gisela was extreme and inconsiderate but, what a sad ending, perhaps she was too clingy and loving to let go of Neo.

It’s sad Gisela had to go this way but this what happens when you play too many pranks on someone. You can’t have someone leaving his work all the time only to come to your “rescue” and there’s nothing wrong. I’m pretty sure I would have done same as Neo.
However, he’ll never forget and won’t be able to forgive himself.

I think she deserved it and it's a lesson for everyone. We shouldn't make any serious thing again and again because in such kind of cases we lose the trust. We might not get the help from others when we need it badly.

Oh no! I didn't expect this ending! Wooot! At first I also got angry with Gisela over her extreme prank even when Neo is busy at the office. I mean she should have used something else and not jeopardize with his job
Also, neo demonstrated so much anger to end the relationship, to him ,Gisela was becoming childish, however she killed herself over Neo's rejection

Nobody knows what actually happened to her because this time she was in real trouble but Neo didn’t even mind her
April fool's gone awry. Gisela fooled around too many times until the prank became the one who "cried wolf." It is a pity because she clearly had an attentive boyfriend who came to her aid when needed. The one time she really needed him he could not be there because it was essentially over between them because she tricked him too many times. Real pity for Gisela. This story has many lessons.
