The intrigue is good, but it's confusing with the two investigations, sometimes it was difficult to understand what period the plot was in.

Arnaldur Indridason writes dry, no-frills novels, but I like them. In this one, the discovery of a dead man sets in motion an investigation that relates to a crime committed during the Second World War, when in Iceland what they called “the situation “, which consisted of Icelandic girls flirting with foreign soldiers, was common.

From my point of view, Passage of Shadows is a tribute to the perseverance and ethical commitment of detective Konrád. Remorse, guilt, friendship, obsession, war, class abuse, women's defencelessness, superciliousness, … These are some core themes of the book.

Puede pasar lo que dices al llevar la historia en dos tiempos distintos. Creo que tal como dices la novela es un homenaje a la constancia y el sentido de justicia de los detectives. Muchas gracias por pasar y comentar estimado @amigoponc. Un fuerte abrazo desde Maracay.
