Happy holidays! If you really have more energy and time to go outside the area, it is the right choice to visit a beautiful area.

I had the opportunity to visit a tourist destination that was still natural. The exoticism is still clearly felt in tourist attractions. That place is “Lau Kawar Lake”.

This is my first time visiting this tourist destination. That's because the distance from my house is quite far, around 100 km. So, I had to find the right time to go to “Lau Kawar Lake”.

Accommodation Using A Car

There are lots of travel services that offer the spot location "Lau Kawar Lake". Interestingly, we can visit many places at once before arriving at the location "Lau Kawar Lake". This is because the location of "Lau Kawar Lake" is in the Sinabung mountain area.

Meanwhile, I chose to travel there using a private car with my husband. Luckily, my husband has experience driving to various areas including areas with difficult access such as the trip to "Lau Kawar Lake". So, we can save more costs.

“Lau Kawar Lake” is in Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province. Travel distance is approximately up to 4 hours.

We left quite late in the day because my husband had to finish some business first. So, we arrived there in the heat of the day. With sunny weather, the sky is very blue and that makes the view there very good. Just perfect!

“Lau Kawar Lake” location is at the foot of Mount Sinabung. Along the way we will pass through lush forests. large trees that are still natural.

We have to be careful especially when it rains. Landslides can occur on the way, especially when arriving at the foot of Mount Sinabung.

Luckily, road access is quite easy even though it passes through the forest. The road has been paved. Although in some areas the road is quite steep uphill and downhill. Drivers must be careful not to become lulled or sleepy.

The entire journey is filled with green areas that soothe the eyes. It is well worth the time spent. Although, for a while I was also sleepy and fell asleep accidentally 🤣 oops my bad.

The air along the journey was also quite cold, typical of mountainous areas, which made me often sleepy. also, the rain came suddenly. So, make sure you have special preparations, especially if you have certain weather conditions.

Anyway, several steep spots have guardrails installed for safety. I admit, access to “Lau Kawar Lake” is quite good. It can be seen how the local government supports this tourism.

“Lau Kawar Lake” was closed when Mount Sinabung erupted several years ago. Now, this place is active again with many interesting activities. So, there are many more visitors. The local government is also focused on continuing to improve access to this place.

The Beauty Of Mount Sinabung

Before truly enjoying the beauty of "Lau Kawar Lake", we can see the majesty of Mount Sinabung.

Around here there are many traditional local people, Batak tribe houses.

If you want to stop by, we can rest in the cafes around Mount Sinabung. Because I wanted to continue my journey, I only took photos from inside the car. Then, I continued my journey to "Lau Kawar Lake".

The Beauty Of Lau Kawar Lake

Arriving at Lau Kawar, we will pay a vehicle parking fee of $1. Then, you will see the beautiful expanse of "Lau Kawar Lake". You will see a large gate that uses a typical Batak tribal design

At the start of the area, the water will appear green. This area is usually used for pre-wedding photo shoots, as well as for camping. We can rent a tent for camping provided by the manager of the place. Also, we can stay at hotels around “Lau Kawar Lake”.

I chose to sit in the area in front of "Lau Kawar Lake", in a small stall there. We can order food or drink to fill our energies after long trip.

I ordered a drink to fill my body with energy. Ginger milk tea for perfect day. The atmosphere looks calming and beautiful.

The View

Forest all around lake. And peaceful moment. In my opinion, the color of the water looks changing, influenced by the color of the sky. Sometimes green, sometimes blue.

On the edge of the lake you can also see rafts and simple fishing boats fishing. In some places, small boat rental services are also available for visitors.

We can explore the edge area of "Lau Kawar Lake" on foot. It feels like exercise. 😅 But with many fun bonus from the view.

I am very happy that on this year-end holiday I can enjoy the beautiful natural nuances of "Lau Kawar Lake". Even though I easily run out of energy, this trip felt fun and was a creative experience beautiful memories to create my good mood.

My husband and I don't stay nearby. We chose to go home that day because my husband could drive at night. All things went perfectly. Thanks, God. A trip worth remembering.

I will visit this place again and explore some of the interesting tourist spots around. There are many hidden gems including a waterfall area that I must visit another time! So, see you on my next story!
