The Mother of Secrets : A Short Story

She was in pain one after other in all of her body parts, she tried to move. The blood around her was making her stay on the floor. But she had to run and save her kid. Everything about her lovely daughter started to flow through her mind like last memories.

Finally, the pain in the leg stopped, now it's only the wound by the bullet near to the shoulder. She was wearing a white shirt. Everything looked like some kind of painting. At least she got a hold in the door's handle which was just above her head.

She stood up and tried to reach to the room where the little daughter slept. She takes a peek from the outside to find if someone was there. There wasn't every killer's are gone now. After walking a few steps she felt something hot on her legs, it was blood.

"Oh God no...
Don't do this to me"

Her mind was repeating it, her heart started to beat like thousand times in a second. She looked under the bed. Something was moving under, a little face of beauty arose from the dark by crawling towards her.

That cheek was so blushy, reddened like real blood. It was blood, but no wounds.

"Oh, my love...
Come closer"

She reached her by hand took her close. She was fine, but there was some blood on the kid's hand.

Suddenly she found that daring truth, they cut the little girls right hand's little finger and there is also something injected in her wrist. The whole hand felt like something cold.

I was the last one to come at the crime scene, They mother and kid have already been hospitalized. It was a robbery by some thugs. The house was a rental by the mother and the kid. The suspicious fact is that we couldn't find any ID of them from the house. So we waited for the mother to get well.

It was a Monday, I got a call from the hospital that the mother and the kid are left without saying anything and not anyone noticing. That made more doubt about them. Whom are they really? We tried to track her but failed. We haven't seen them after that.

But we found some dead bodies within a month around the town without the little finger.
