Hello famz! kudos to the steemmonsters team and their curators for the great initiatives of hosting a weekly curation and the battle challenge post too as it helps the player to earn more from the game and also help in improving their writing skills...

This week battle challenge is using the TORTISIAN FIGHTER to win a battle, unfortunately i don't use this card in battle and didn't bother to level up the one i have got even tho i have spares i can use in levelling it up.. i had to check on it after seeing the splinterlands post and realised it is in level 1 so i took it to level 3!

So let me take you round the world of the monster TORTISIAN FIGHTER

Tortisians are one of the newest civilized race to find their way into the Splinterlands from the other side of the world. They are naturally a seafaring people, and while they cannot breathe underwater, Tortisians can hold their breath for several minutes at a time. Their shells act as powerful floatation devices, never allowing one to be dragged under or to tire from swimming. In battle, the Tortisian Fighters make use of ancient martial arts forms handed down by their people. They carry spears, but seldom need to use them.

This water splinter card is bestowed with two amazing abilities which are the shield and the repair which comes at level 4 and 8 respectively. The shield help in reducing damage from Melee and Ranged attacks while the repair restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage. Isn't he an amazing card ?

Let us go through the battle line, i had a fixed match in which the rules stated:

• Super sneak: All melee attack monsters have the sneak ability.
• Healed out: Al healing abilities are removed from monsters and summoners

I love the melee sneak rules so i came with daria and three thorn monsters, here goes my tactics..

SET UP

• LORD ARIANTHUS

The rule was all melee can attack rule but still i use lord arianthus as the front man because my enemy can be tricky and come with magic monsters, so i am not leaving that chance hence lord.A will be able to defend against melee and magic attack...

• TORTISIAN FIGHTER

The monster is quite equiped with melee attack[+2] and with the addition of daria summoner, it will make the attack +3 which can cause fatal damage to the oppponent.....

• FIENDISH HARPY

This monster has an opportunity ability which makes it unique has it only target the monsters with the lowest speed as to take them down faster, it is an ability i love to use so i can defeat my enemy faster....

• MANTICORE

The manticore with his thorn ability fit in the rule set, since all melee attack will be hittting from the back, i need thorn monsters placed there, so the enemy monsters can suffer damage whenever they hit my monsters.

• ENCHANTED DEFENDER

The armor man with thorns is also a good monster to use, i am going with full defense so if my enemy comes with melee, it will be very difficult for him to win cos all my melee monsters at the back have thorns...

• SPINEBACK TURTLE

The spineback is also well known for its many armor and thorn abilities, i used it as my last card to serve as a defense from the enemy melee attack too...

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy works perfectly as my opponent came with 2 melee mosnters that died fast due to the thorns i used as defence and the lord.A gave his range attack a tough time..

Do you use the TORTISIAN FIGHTER often? Why or why not?

Actually no, this will be my first time using the card in battle but after checking its skills, i may start using it ...
